The incumbent will develop the game systems, controls, interfaces, and the interactive elements based on the vision of the Lead.
Understand the intentions of the creative director for the player so as to design systems that are in keeping with the vision;
Define the skills that the player must possess and their efficiency in overcoming the various obstacles;
Formalize and document the systems in order to communicate them to the programming and design teams;
Verify that the systems that are developed are coherent with the work of the key specialties within the team;
Validate the Mandarin translations provided by 3rd party provider, make sure the translations are in-line with our game universe and are Chinese government compliant;
Provide modification suggestions to game mechanics for Chinese market;
Work with content team to come up with new character designs on background stories, items, animations, audios and other assets for Chinese market;
Carry out all of the adjustments so as to facilitate game and system control and understanding.
Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in design
Relevant experience working on AAA titles, current and next-gen consoles
Client focus (internal and external);
Ability to accept critique, ability to listen;
Excellent critical sense;
Excellent communicator (spoken and written) and good interpersonal skills;
Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
Candidates with previous narrative or character design experiences would be considered first.
A big plus for candidates who had successfully shipped a western game in China.
