What You'll Do
Cisco is looking for an experienced Technical Leader Manufacturing Operations.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Strategy and Technical Leadership
Provides technical leadership in definition and implementation of complex engineering projects. Participates in developing technical direction for key initiatives.
Demonstrate cross-functional influence on a horizontal basis with respect to implementation of technology in area of expertise.
Capable to perform and drive complex technical assignments
Develops and drives internal training programs and actively provides technical mentoring to teams.
Works with management and engineering teams to solve technical problems throughout the development cycle. Helps engineers finds ways to attack new or difficult problems and develop robust capabilities.
Visibility and Influence Within Cisco
Span of influence, within Supply Chain Organization / Cisco Design Organization, includes road-mapping and early engagement, development, delivery.
Cross-functional recognition for accomplishments and implementation expertise.
Influences product set owners to ensure optimal solution to technical problem.
Participates in the design review related to technologies within the domain of expertise.
Demonstrates ability to articulate and convey technical concepts and architectures in various internal and external forums
Participates in cross-functional/high value projects that will have global impact on Cisco’s business.
Efforts manifest in clear business benefits and gains in key technology, capability, and manufacturing productivity.
Aligns project success and deployment of product set with customer requirements
Performs complex assignments requiring high level of technical expertise
Your responsibility will span across both Manufacturing and Test Engineering operations while, focusing on building a close partnership with a cross functional team to achieve key Quality, Reliability, Cost and functionality goals through "Design For": Manufacturability, Testability, Scalability, Reliability, Automation and Cost:
Primary Technical Leadership for the manufacturing operations of Cisco’s Optical product platform (e.g., Silicon Photonics)
On-site definition and direction for next-generation die attach, wire bonding, hermetic packaging, fiber attach, and photonics testing strategy.
Applies experience and works multi-functional to develop and optimize Silicon Photonic Engines & Optical Transceiver costs, technologies, and supply chains.
Provide leadership for Mfg. Engineering and Test Engineering teams that supports the Manufacturing sites.
Provides dedicated product family responsibility with dedicated interface for each Product Team, and works closely with Manufacturing Product Manager (MPM).
Drives Quality, site audits, and ensures manufacturing partner compliance to Cisco’s quality requirements.
Drives Lean principles, in collaboration with the partners, to deliver efficiencies.
Identifies and analyzes Product opportunities to improve cost / quality / delivery, in partnership with Product Operations and the Business units.
Ensures the manufacturing partners have a direct launch gate keeping process that provides total process readiness prior to Pilot start.
Monitors and drives the overall capability of local manufacturing partners at working, technical and executive levels
Advocates for Cisco and drives for world-class operational excellence from the partners.
Drives the partners to deliver Quality Performance and eliminates Quality Risks at or above the set goals.
Leads product quality, failure analysis and problem isolation/resolution in production environment.
Provides leadership in the identification and creation of new techniques and innovations to advance the processes and tools used in the design, development and manufacturing of complex products or systems.
Defines operational requirements; designs and implements processes and systems to support operational requirements.
Drives process optimization to improve Quality, Cost and Yield, Delivery and continuously improves product and process performance.
Initiates reviews of ideas and technical objectives within and across business units, and shares and promotes "best practices”
Identifies & drives solutions in ambiguous situations
