GM - CONTRACT LOGISTICS

DHL Supply Chain (Thailand) is hiring a GENERAL MANAGER, Thai National, to join our team to drive the overall management of one of our big and complex operational retail accounts.

 

The entire operation consists of over 700 people in 5 DCs located in Romklao (1), Bangna (1), Surattani (2), and Laem Chabang (1).

 

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

To drive the overall management of this retail accounts in Warehouse Operations and driving Account Management Excellence (AME).
Whilst maintaining & enhancing business relationship with the customers; and to lead the responsible Contract Management teams.
Ensuring they are carrying out effective management of Resources, Performance, Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment, Quality, and Budgets.

KEY ACTIVITIES | IMPACT:

 

Establishes and implements Supply Chain business strategies with direct impact on the objectives and on business results of own areas of responsibility.
Makes business and managerial decisions and recommendations in order to achieve business and financial results, prevent loss of partnership and eliminate the risk of substantial expenditures of time, human resources and/or funds.
Profitably, grow existing business within the DHL portfolio, developing strategies to leverage existing business relationships.
Be responsible and lead proactively the contract renewal process with existing customers.
Be responsible for driving initiatives to positively impact the customers logistics cost and service, where possible driving gain shares initiatives to positively impact DHL’s P&L.
 

KEY ACTIVITIES | CUSTOMERS & STAKEHOLDERS:

 

Be accountable to his/her direct superior for the delivery of strategic business results.
Provides support and coordination to peers on the implementation of company policies, programs and initiatives.
Drives AME within the DHL’s Customer Account.
Develops and maintains partnership and relations with existing customers.
Contacts the customer frequently in order to understand and fulfill their needs.
Provides leadership support to his/her management teams.
Supply Chain investment planning.
 

KEY ACTIVITIES | PROBLEM COMPLEXITY & PROCESS:

 

Plans, directs and coordinates the logistics operations activities in the areas of responsibility.
Works closely with customers and direct superior in budget planning.
Lead role in all new business implementations.
Oversees all customer accounts of responsibility to ensure that his/her management teams provide smooth logistics operations and stay within the budget.
Identifies where the services to customers should be improved, then, develops and implements initiatives and processes for logistics management within overall areas of responsibility.
Initiates new business leads to grow the existing Sector Footprint.
Identifies and analyzes logistics problems in areas of responsibility and develops solutions to enhance operations.
Ensures that there are means for monitoring and evaluating operations and cost effectiveness.
Ensures that appropriate and integrated management information is made available.
Accounts for the effective use of resources, ensuring your areas of responsibility keep within approved financial agreements.
 

KEY ACTIVITIES | PEOPLE MANAGEMENT:

 

Oversees the overall people processes to ensure compliance with Human Resources policies.
Estimates staffing needs and schedules and assigns work to subordinates.
Co-decides with HR Department in the recruitment and selection processes of managerial positions.
Develops performance targets and goals and evaluates it against those targets and goals.
Provides management leadership and inspirational motivation to all staff within the areas of responsibility.
Identifies training and development needs and areas and gives managerial support in training and development programs for subordinate managers.
Promotes career development.
Manages underperformance of subordinates.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Minimum 10 – 15 years of experience in warehouse management, transport management and/or logistics management
