Cisco Systems is setting up a new Software Development hub in Krakow to support the company’s shift from a hardware to software and services, and tackle one of Cisco’s top customer challenges. Software Licensing. Our customers and partners find it difficult to consume and activate software due to our complex licensing process with different licensing policies and licensing technologies across our product portfolio.
Cisco Smart Licensing is a new way of thinking about licensing at Cisco that is being applied to all products. Smart Licensing provides a Software Inventory Management System that provides Customers, Cisco, and Selected Partners with information about Software Ownership and Software Utilization
What You’ll Do
The Senior Software Developer will design, develop and maintain software across the entire range of Cisco’s portfolio to enable device-to-cloud communication for use with Cisco Smart Licensing. You will be challenged to solve complex problems with cutting-edge technology across a wide array of business verticals and deliver the highest quality service to our customers. Independent thinking, creativity and self-motivation are key skills for this role.
What you will be responsible for
You will be responsible for working with various Cisco Products teams, helping them integrate into the Smart Licensing ecosystem, troubleshooting software integration issues, determining how best to resolve the problem by fixing issues in the integration environment, and porting features to the integration environment as new functionality is enabled in production. In addition, you will make improvements to the infrastructure overall Alpha integration environment, responding to customer’s needs.
Who you will work with
This is an exciting opportunity to work with Cisco's Engineering Licensing Office (ELO) in the US which performs centralized development for all Customer-prem components of Cisco's new On-Prem/Cloud Hybrid management solutions. You will work across continents with all products across every Business Unit at Cisco and provide thought leadership to the company on how best to monetize products. This is a role that touches every product Cisco develops, giving unique insight into the company.
Who you are
You are independent and self-motivated with creative analytical skills. You have excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills and the ability to learn quickly and critically. You love to learn more and are not afraid to learn a new Cisco product or technology in order to make sure that both you and the project are successful.
• BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent
• Professional experience focused on developing/supporting industry standard web technologies, open source technologies
• 3+ years of professional experience in software development with GoLang
• Must be able to debug and fix defects, identify and resolve problems at the application Level.
• Must be able to use testing tool RSpec and experience in automated testing including unit and functional testing.
• Should be a strong team player and guide Junior Developers in the team.
Additional technical skills: Java, API’s, REST, MongoDB , C/ C++
