About EMEA Operations
EMEA Operations provides support to the International Private Banks based in the key Wealth locations of Switzerland (Geneva & Zurich) and Monaco. Supporting more than 100 Bankers in over 10 countries servicing around 9,000 clients with GBP 18.5 billion assets under management.
EMEA Operations provide service excellence to our Clients throughout the end to end Client lifecycle from CDD, account opening and maintenance through investment trade settlement and asset servicing, lending, exposure monitoring, and payments processing to account closures. EMEA Operations has a combined budget of £6 million and around 75 people split across Geneva and Monaco as well as oversight for activities performed by Barclays Shared Services in Glasgow, India and Singapore.
EMEA Operations is seen as the leading European Centre of Excellence for Avaloq, and has been key in providing SME support for design, testing and training for Avaloq processes for the key strategic re-platforming projects in Jersey, UK and Monaco, whilst maintaining focus on servicing the Swiss platform.

Overall purpose of role
CDD Advisory Specialist Team - Providing guidance and advice to Bankers and Private Banking Executives with respect to onboarding new clients as well as providing ongoing advice surrounding the requirements linked to change of circumstances. Ensuring the sign off and acceptance of all new clients or change of circumstances are done so in line with both Barclay’s internal policies and Swiss Regulatory requirements.
The role holder will have a strong background in the Monaco regulatory framework as well as a clear understanding of Operational Tax requirements including FATCA and CRS.
The role holder will aim to align the teams within their remit, cross training where possible and as necessary for the business.
The role holder will be expected to build relationships and interact effectively and professionally with Operations, Compliance and the Front Office locally and across all jurisdictions. They will represent the teams in local and group wide meetings, assessments, initiatives and projects. They will provide support to the Head of Operations, representing Geneva operations as and when required.
The role holder will be responsible for ensuring continuous improvement in both process and control, developing and enhancing further the support provided by the teams. They will lead the teams through future procedural and regulatory changes.
Management of the CDD Advisory Specialist Team ensuring all activities are completed within SLA, to the high standards set-out within the Barclays Policies and in line with Monaco regulatory requirements.
Provision of CDD advice and guidance to Bankers and PBEs in respect of new accounts, periodic reviews and life cycle changes.
Sign-off and acceptance of standard risk, special focus and PEP new accounts and life cycle changes.
Sign-off and acceptance of periodic reviews for standard risk, special focus and PEP accounts.
Management of the PEP review process including organisation of the PEP Committee, maintenance of the PEP register and monitoring subsequent actions.
Ensuring the management of the QA framework for the team results in standards being maintained at a high level across onboarding, periodic reviews and life cycle changes.
Ensuring any risk identified through the screening of prospects, payments and existing client base is escalated as necessary and a timely manner.
Ensure avaloq is updated within SLA with controls in place to guarantee the quality of the data held.
Escalation to Financial Crime of any issues that could impact the reputation of the bank.
Provision of MI and Monthly reporting highlighting key resources issues, project impacts and emerging risks.
Participate in any relevant audits or control assessments, internal or external ensuring any resultant
