Essential Responsibilities

The WTG Electrical Cabinets are understood as the Low Voltage Switchgears which comprises the so-called Control Cabinets and Low Power Distribution Cabinets, that supplies power consumption to the electrical loads like VFD drives, motors, lights, sockets, sensors. They host control PLC devices, safety network devices and communication networks, main components like switches. Main UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) System is included in the scope too.
In this role, you will deliver engineering designs/requirements, execute business critical New Product Introductions, drive cost competitiveness, and ensure world class subsystem performance of the biggest offshore Wind Turbine up to date. You will work together with Supply Chain, EHS, Operations relevant stakeholders among others, to deliver the best solution from a whole value chain perspective. - Full requirement capture, document of the Power Consumption needs and the Input/Output signals requirements from the rest of the WTG engineering
- Drive compliance of components and their use to international codes and standards like IEC, UL, CSA, ISO, CE, CCC, DIN etc.
- Ensure quality of deliverables, on time delivery, design cost targets, DFMEA, performance, availability, reliability, manufacturability, safety, weight and general targets defined by the business related to the Electrical Cabinets
- Ensure the Electrical Cabinets Design as full integrated solution, interface with mechanical, electrical, power conversion and controls as well as power conversion systems
- Ensure proper design reviews and documentation quality according to RE-120 Instruction and defined project gates
- Perform Engineering Excellence and provide innovative design solutions to deliver world class quality Role Summary/Purpose

This is a design engineering role inside of a global scope of the Electrical Auxiliaries Team which includes the electrical sub-systems and components for GE offshore wind turbines.
The purpose of the job covers from conceptual design and functional specifications until the testing & validation of WTG Electrical Cabinets.


- Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering or related discipline or equivalent knowledge or experience. Preferably electrical
- Significant technology and/or product management experience
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
- EU Work Permit
If contracted in Spain:

Non-national candidates are responsible to know the minimum documentation requirements to be able to be contracted in country: NIE- Social Security Affiliation Number in Spain (NAF) and Bank Account in Spain. They must be in possession of them at the time of start hiring. GE will not sponsor this requirement.

Desired Characteristics

- Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent knowledge or experience
- Wind industry expertise with proven results developing & implementing technology programs
- Knowledge of Standards and Design Codes
- Skilled in electrical component design calculations, drawings creation, specifications and schematics
- Demonstrated system thinking: ability to assess tradeoffs, effectively assess risk, and optimize results
- Experience with electrical CAD tools (NX, AutoCAD & ePLAN)
- Experience with EasyPOWER Simulation tool (Arc Flash, SCCR, Protections settings…)
- Business acumen and customer focus
- Demonstrated ability to work horizontally across stakeholders to influence outcomes
- Strong interpersonal skills including: ownership, self-motivated, problem solving, analytical, team player, communication skills and ability to develop relationships
