BASF Shared Services Center Kuala Lumpur was established in 2005. Located in Kuala Lumpur, the shared services center has nearly 700 employees and provides functional services in the areas of Finance, Controlling, Information Services, Human Resources, Environment, Health & Safety, Procurement and Import-Export Operations Services to BASF companies and affiliates in 17 markets across the Asia Pacific region.
This center is part of BASF Global Shared Services Organization (GSSO) network, with three other sites in Berlin and Ludwigshafen in Germany and in Montevideo, Uruguay, that cover Europe and the Americas.
Provide an independent and objective assurance services to help BASC accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of internal controls, governance processes and risk management.
Ensure that all aspects of BASC Quality Management System are understood, implemented and maintained. Be the cheerleader for Quality in the company.
Maintain and continuously improve the BASC Quality Management System, perform quality assurance tasks to maintain compliance to ISO 9001 standards and ensure conformity to BASF Internal Controls Over Financial Reporting (ICOFR).
Lead all BASF ICOFR responsibilities within the organization. This includes:
implementation and compliance to all ICOFR requirements and updates from BASF SE.
evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls while making value added recommendations to improve the overall control environment.
maintain the process documentation as per ZFR/FC guidelines.
lead and conduct related compliance audits for ICOFR and SOX requirements of local countries.
coordinate all activities related to global/regional internal audit and integrated audit (by external auditors). This includes updating the audit approach, schedules and closures.
Lead all ISO responsibilities within the organization. This includes:
ensure all ISO 9001 requirements are complied with.
implementation, registration, compliance, Quality Management updates.
lead all audit and compliance efforts and communicate within the organization.
maintain and oversee the Document Control System.
maintain and monitor BASC Quality Management System database (used for the recording of NCM).
Effectively document internal and/or external audit information to support findings and conclusion and communicate results in audit reports to management and relevant teams.
Build strong relationship and facilitate excellent communication among various delivery teams within BASC and related external parties.
Conduct relevant ISO 9001 and ICOFR trainings for awareness and updates.
Coordinate all external audits (if there are any other than ISO and ICOFR related).
Interact with appropriate levels in the management team to discuss the effectiveness of Quality Management System and Internal Control environment.
Planning & Controlling:
Determine the QMS reporting system to Management.
Ensure reporting compliance to ZFR/FC and other relevant external party's requirements.
Execute work in accordance with the Quality Management framework by providing timely and accurate service.
Suggest and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Share best practices with all teams.
Prepare & update documentation to ensure complete knowledge retention in Quality & Compliance team.
