BASF has been a committed partner to Greater China since 1885. With major investments in Nanjing, Shanghai and Chongqing, BASF is one of the largest foreign investors in the Chinese chemical industry, and maintains the BASF Asia Pacific Innovation Campus in Shanghai as a research and development hub for the Asia Pacific region.
 
Objectives:
In-charge of tax compliance and planning activities
Lead cross-functional teams to implement tax solutions
Support Global Tax Function in Greater China (e.g., M&A etc.)
 
Main Tasks:
Manage annual tax return filings for legal entities assigned
Handle requests and audits from tax authorities independently
Identify tax planning ideas to minimize tax exposures and maximize tax savings in Greater China
Lead and align with cross-functional teams to develop and implement tax solutions
Provide professional tax advice to cross-functional teams and business units
Support Global Tax Function to implement global / regional tax initiatives in Greater China
Provide advice and support customs audits
 
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics or Law
Working Experience: At least 8 years of tax professional experience (of which at least 5 years of Big 4 experience)
Technical & Professional Knowledge: Professional Accounting qualifications (CICPA, RTA or equivalent)
Strong analytical, conceptual, presentation and report writing skills
Good Chinese and English speaking and writing skills
Detailed oriented, persuasive and purpose driven; team player with pleasant and highly responsible work attitude
