Alstom has been part of Belgian railway history for 130 years through its connection with the former rail transport equipment subsidiary of SA Ateliers de Constructions Électriques de Charleroi (ACEC).   Today, Alstom Belgium employs 1050 people and is involved in approximately 100 major projects worldwide.
The site in Charleroi has developed unique expertise in electrical and electronic systems within two centres of excellence that operate at a global level : one focuses on traction systems and the other on signalling and railway traffic control systems, with a particular emphasis on equipment that complies with the European standard (European  Rail  Traffic  Management  System/ ERTMS).  The teams develop systems, manufacture prototypes, perform tests and trials, complete approval procedures and manage integration projects.  An after sales service activity completes the offer for these product groups.  Alstom Belgium pursues an ambitious growth strategy by actively investing in R&D.  The work carried out by its team of 100 research engineers makes a significant contribution to the development of a sustainable rail transport system.
To deliver projects according to QCD commitments of the baseline sold;
To serve clients and propose additional services to make business grow;
The Project Manager will be dedicated to Projects for Services activities: maintenance or modernization of Rolling Stock and Signalling systems.
Network and links
The job holder reports directly to the Services Bids & Projects Director.
The job holder will functionally manage and coordinate the Project Core Team: Project Engineering Manager (PrEM), Project Industrial and Sourcing Manager (PrISM), Project Financial Manager (PrFM), Project Warranty Manager (PWM), Project Quality and Safety Manager (PrQSM).
The job holder will be Alstom’s point of contact for his/her customers of the Railway Industry.
For several projects at the same time, the Project Manager is in charge to:
Participate, when applicable, in the last phases of the tendering process to support the Bid Manager to negotiate the future project commitments in execution;
Deliver projects according to QCD commitments as specified at contract signature;
Enroll manage and obtain the commitments of each member the Project Core Team;
Support Customer Director in proposing and negotiating variation orders with customer;
Act in respect of applicable process and standards, and support the mission of the PrQSM;
Set up organisational and behaviour rules and pilot planning and resources to meet customers’ needs;

Report to Services Tender and Project Manager weekly updates and contributes to the consolidation of project reporting (project dashboard and project indicators).

Give feedback to the Tender team about the reliability of costing
Allow the set-up of predictive maintenance
Develop customer portfolio by proposing spontaneous offers and services adapted
Engineering Degree (Master equivalent or above) in one or more of the following fields: Industrial, Telecom, Electrical, Electronics, Automation.
Desired knowledge / Experience:
Minimum of 5 years experience of managing high value or technically complex projects in the Railway Automobile and/or Aeronautic Industry
Experience in international projects and openness to multi-cultural environment
Key Knowledge Areas:
Deep understanding of technical/engineering requirements and product specifications
Good control of contractual, financial and political stakes
Team management excellence: to enrol & motivate internal and external partners
Strong analytical and synthesis skills
Resilience to cope with complex
