Summary of role:

Transactional support for deals booked in Zurich and originated in the MENA region
You should be able to support from a regulatory perspective all 8 offices Credit Suisse has in the MENA region. Ability to represent the organization in front of government and regulatory authorities is a requirement.
Providing legal advice on new products, following new regulatory and legal developments, analyzing new laws and regulations and providing regular updates to the bank. Following up with other internal stakeholders making sure the new rules are implemented in the right way. Amending existing documentation and legal procedures to reflect such changes.
General legal duties:

Providing regulatory advice in a number of MENA locations
Assisting on MENA New Business initiatives and GC representation in such projects
Handling local external counsel(s) in all MENA locations (appointments, engagements and control over costs)
Providing legal support to senior management, IWM, IB and AM teams in MENA
Transactional support for lending and Islamic Finance transactions
Supporting Global Litigation team on local litigation cases, complaints and liaising with local counsel
Advising shared services departments on the relevant local Employment Laws, Data Protection Laws etc.
Support on Corporate Governance and Corporate Secretarial requirements to all MENA entitiesYou Offer

Knowledge and competences:

You are expected to hold an LL.B. and/or LL.M. from a reputable University, qualified lawyer with in-house bankingg, as well as private practice experience
At least 5-7 years of PQE, local MENA experience, Banking background
Proficiency in English, a good command of written and spoken Arabic would be an advantage
