My client is an international manufacturing business with a solid orderbook


Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Senior Financial Accountant plays a pivotal role in the business.

Duties incluede;

- Reconciliation of key balance sheet items, review and analysis of profit and loss variances
- Compilation of monthly management accounts with supporting schedules and commentary
- Review of gross margins to ensure correct pricing and challenge unexpected variances
- Completion of group reporting schedules both for monthly and year end close
- Co-ordination of the audit and financial year-end processes for all entities
- Preparation of draft financial statements to appropriate GAAP and accounting standards
- General management of non-UK entities to ensure group policies/controls are adhered to. Ensure problems and queries are routed to the correct decision makers.
- Prepare group recharge schedules
- Reconcile inter-company balances
- Ensure intercompany recharges are made in accordance with underlying agreements and policy
- Review monthly integrity reports and ensure any issues are resolved promptly
- Ensure fixed assets are capitalised or expensed in line with company policy and limits agreed with HMRC
- Track and review capital spend against budget. Provide depreciation forecasts.
- Manage and complete ONS forms as required
- Prompt payment of Corporation Tax liabilities
- Completion of Corporation Tax packs, including R&D Expenditure Credits analysis, for PwC and submission of annual Corporation Tax return Other reporting requirements met by Transactions team in compliance with statutory deadlines, such as VAT, Intrastat, EC Sales List
- Cashflow forecasts prepared in line with Global Treasury requirements
- Management of working capital, including maximisation of interest returns
- Review and authorise payments for all Group companies
- Day-to-day management of the Financial Accountant to include objective setting, appraisals, development and training
- Provide support to Transactions Manager such as challenging expenses with employees, as required
- Provide cover for Finance Manager
- Staff Management


You will be a fully qualified Accountant and hold ACCA, CIMA or ACA

- Knowledge of UK GAAP as well as IFRS
- Experience of compliance with statutory regulations
- Experience of staff management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Able to meet demanding schedules and deadlines
- Result oriented
- Good awareness of internal controls
- Project management skills - planning, leadership, delegation, reporting, etc.
- Able to plan and prioritise own work schedule
- A team player
- Influencing and negotiating skills
- Willingness to challenge existing processes and procedures where appropriate, and identify and implement improvements

Job Offer

A Salary c£45,000 - £47,000


25 days annual leave +BH

8% pension contributions
