Job Description:

This position will reside in the Technology Initiative Governance and Reporting finance team and it will provide exposure to enterprise wide initiative project processes.   The financial analyst will provide financial oversight and governance for a group of technology portfolios.  The function includes responsibilities for the day-to-day finance activities of these portfolios, cost allocation, internal-use software capitalization, analysis and reporting, explanations of variances, partnering and communicating with Finance Forecasting and Business Finance teams, etc.

The associate should be able to work with cross-functional teams.  Partners include:  Technology Finance teams, Project Management Offices, and Enterprise Change Management.

Key responsibilities

Financial oversight – The analyst will manage portfolio financial targets and will be responsible for monitoring financial trends and properly identify risk and opportunities.
Analyze and communicate monthly portfolio financials to applicable business and finance partners.
Regular portfolio maintenance – The analyst will be responsible for establishing the proper co/cc, internal allocation distributions and hierarchy maintenance of his/her portfolios.
Cost allocation – The analyst will be responsible for the cost allocation of his/her portfolios to the various business units (BU).  The analyst will be responsible for understanding and communicating changes affecting the BU.
Software Capitalization – The analyst will be responsible for working with business partners to collect the required information to perform the capitalization of internally developed software.
Reporting – The analyst will be responsible for creating the adequate reporting to report the performance of the portfolios and to support the various partners.

Required skills:

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting or finance
4+ years of accounting or financial analysis work experience
Accounting, Audit or GAAP compliance experience
Strong communication, organization, presentation and analytical skills
Advanced Excel skills
Ability to visualize, analyze and quickly learn complex operating processes.
Ability to problem solve and take ownership of process improvements
Ability to work with minimal supervision and able to interact with various levels of management.
Desired skills:

Project work related experience
Understanding of ASC 350-40 Capitalization/accounting rules (deferring Technology costs)
Understanding of financial reporting systems
SAP, Smartview
