Sr Software Team Lead

Essential Responsibilities

- Be responsible for providing leadership to develop software in a fast paced and agile development environment using the latest software development technologies and infrastructure

- Directly manage a team of direct reports providing coaching, feedback and development opportunities, familiar with motivation methods and can use them in practice

- Participates in the hiring process

- Measures team efficiency and takes action in case of deviations from the planned trajectory

- Apply principles of good software design, agile methodologies, CI/CD, and practices like refactoring, TDD, etc., to deliver high-quality, robust, secure, and exceptional software

- Facilitates agile ceremonies, takes care of processes, feels responsible for delivery

- Be accountable for quality of released software and lead quality engineering efforts, maximizing automation, across the product

- Work closely with leadership to efficiently execute engineering backlog with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction

Role Summary/Purpose

Responsible for leading all Software activity across a multi-functional program. In this role you will be responsible for leading all software activities on a program, solving problems, developing and executing on objectives for self and others, with the ability to effect short-term and long-term business goals.
Wing-to-wing execution of technical projects to deliver high quality outcomes to customers.


- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) or equivalent knowledge or experience

- Solid experience along with established leadership credentials across disciplines and functions

Desired Characteristics

- Appreciation of Iterative or Agile working

- Experience in a leadership or equivalent role (Scrum Master, Lead Software Engineer) within a software engineering environment

- Experience working to formal software procedures and standards

- Proven experience engaging in technical discussions at a customer level (internal or external)

- Experience of risk & opportunity identification and management

- Demonstrable success achieving and exceeding internal and external (customer) milestones

- Ability to influence others and create cohesive groups

- Strong oral and written communication skills

- Strong process orientation in approach to work

- Team organization experience

- Can efficiently escalate team issues to proper escalation channels

- Identifies roles, assigning responsibilities, recognizing reporting relationships and obtaining resources

- Can present to senior executive officers in a concise manner
