Description of Role
Working with supervision, you will support the Assistant Managers and Managers to manage a client portfolio and you will contribute to presenting our work and its findings to the client. With a clear focus on anticipating and identifying risks, you will escalate issues as appropriate. Working closely with colleagues, you'll determine whether the work is properly executed, documented and concluded in compliance with our Quality & Risk Management (Q&RM) guidelines. As an influential member of the team, you'll help to create a positive learning culture, coaching and counselling junior team members to help them develop.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in Accounting engagements and have responsibility for a portfolio of clients
- Work effectively as a leader, team member, giving guidance, providing support, maintaining communication and  updating the Managers and Partners/Directors
- Review of deliverables per the agreed scope with the client
- Assisting in preparing reports and schedules that will be delivered to clients and other parties
- Build strong internal relationships within the compliance and reporting team and across other services
- Contribute to people initiatives and empowering team members on the client engagements
- Create a positive learning culture, coaching and counselling team members on the various account;
- Liaise with the client and the EY central team and provide the necessary updates require
- Assist with the training (on the job) and development of trainees within our two training  programmes, (SAIT and SAICA)
Qualifications & Experience
- B.Com Hons/CTA, completed Articles and working towards CA (SA) or equivalent
- Practical accounting (IFRS) and/or tax experience
- Proven experience in delivering audit/accounting/tax services to private sector clients
- Commercial, legislative and industry knowledge
- Experience in delivering on multinational, multi-jurisdictional engagements
- Ability to apply Q&RM procedures
- Private and Public sector experience within South Africa
- Experience in Microsoft packages (Excel, Word and Power Point)
- Experience in Caseware
- Experience in accounting packages (JD Edwards, Pastel Partner/Evolution)
