Context: The GEM Back Office Department is looking for a trade Business Support Manager ST Contracts, Trading Power/Emissions/freight. The Trade Business Support team is part of GEM Back Office and its mission is to support the trading related activities in a secure and compliant way, by reducing at minimum the operational risk. The team activity includes: Managing Day to day Operations : OTC Transactions : - Issuing Term Sheets, Affirmations, Confirmations, Invoices & Settlements - Calculating Monthly averages, - Expiring Deals & generate Cash Flows. Cleared & Listed Transactions : - Deals reconciliations with Trading or Clearing Platforms - Calculating Margin Calls & Challenging Clearer Positions Statement - Generating & Validating payments in accordance to the clearer authorized threshold/Credit Limits Checking Daily Fixings and Trading Calendars to guaranty their integrity Contribute to the implementation of new products Execute compressions, novation and early termination Be stakeholder in business and IT projects Role: Guaranty that the Day to Day Operations are run by the team on a compliant and secured way on the perimeter of Gas, Oil and Collateral Management. Managing staff, preparing work schedules and assigning specific duties. Determine staffing requirements, interview and train new employees, oversee personnel processes. Ensuring that all standards for accuracy, timeliness and overall service delivery to the organization are met and exceeded where possible As part of a global team, maintaining solid working relationships with the “heads of” in the Trade Business Support team to ensure good communication across the overall team Paris and Brussels and alignment on best practices. Establishing and implementing regional departmental goals, objectives, and procedures if needed Main Activities: As Manager of Trade Business Support team on ST Contracts, Trading Power/Emissions/Freight , you will report to the Head of Back Office TBS and you will be in charge of: Overseeing multi-location Trading Back Office Operations (Brussels, Paris and Rome), ensure coherency in the back office processes execution Ensure that all standards for accuracy, timeliness and overall service delivery to the organization are met and exceeded where possible Establishing , implementing and measure team objectives and performance Promoting best practices to improve performance, organizational effectiveness and resource efficiency Ensuring the implementation of Compliance Policies and Audit Recommendations Directly sponsor projects and being the driving force for timely, high quality business requirement implementation Maintaining strong relation with Front and the Support functions teams in the GEM organization Work location: Brussels, ENGIE TOWER Education and professional background: Education level Master I/II in Business, Finance, Economics, Science or you take a year off before your final year Minimum of 0 – 5 years of relevant experience. (Trading Environment appreciated Hard skills: A proven track record of managing teams across Operations functions Knowledge of OTC & Cleared Derivative and Transaction Cycle Good understanding of the trade lifecycle and the roles and responsibilities of the various stakeholders Knowledge of the key legal agreements used by the firm when trading commodities, especially the clauses relating directly to Operations Knowledge of Collateral Management is an asset Soft skills: Very good communication and interpersonal skills. Client focused and willing to have extensive interactions with Sales, Trading, Market Risk, Finance Organized and detail oriented Good analytical and problem solving skills Analytical, Problem solving, autonomy High level of commitment and team Spirit Languages: Fluent in French and English is a must
