Summary DescriptionMust deliver shipments safely and punctually to the destination while following all rules and regulations that come with being a truck driver and upholding the responsibilities of the job.ResponsibilitiesPerform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle ensuring functionality of break lights, proper tire pressure, proper fluid levels, and checking many other parts.Plan route with detail using navigation technology or an old fashioned atlas.
Include rest stops, gas stops, and stops to contact the dispatcher.Keep logs of trip, and keep pick-up and carry paper records of the shipments in the event of an inspection by the D.O.T (Department Of Transportation).Supervise the loading of the goods to ensure that they will not be damaged on the road.Follow all rules and regulations of the road and maintain a defensive driving mindset to uphold reputation of company and to ensure safety of everyone on the road.QualificationsProof of high school degree or other equivalent.Must have Class A, CDL, or commercial drivers licence.Must have a clean driving record.Must pass a drug and alcohol test.
