Wiring harness has an extreme variant flora. Not all variants are today documented in 3D CAD. Today we describe several installations in Technical regulation documents. Lots of these could be removed if we had 100% 3D CAD documentation. How can we modularize the virtual world to be able to document all variants without exploding in working hours?
Thesis scope of work
Create a visual picture of the today situation and complexity
Make recommendation for a way to modularize the 3D installations
The work includes understanding variants and complexity in general by interviewing and interacting with engineers working in the area. Understanding the need of 100% 3D CAD models is also important. Once the current situation is clear it is time to brainstorm and maybe benchmark others to propose alternative ways of working
Qualifications & Required Documents
Product development oriented
Knowledge about CAD and PLM (We use Creo and Catia)
No need for electrical background
Thesis Level: Master (30 ECTS points)
