Caterpillar’s Quality Supervisor position works independently and with their direct reports and divisional teams to ensure conformity to quality processes. In addition, incumbents support quality initiatives in manufacturing facilities related to operations, supplier quality and materials. Incumbents supervise diverse groups of employees in the facility across multiple employee categories / payrolls. Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:Quality processes in a facility Products conformity within specifications Product defect reporting Setting priorities and establishing review schedules for product and equipment quality control Managing shop floor quality controllers Quality initiatives with the Caterpillar Production System Developing, implementing and monitoring of quality plans to meet standards and certification compliance Conducting and reporting internal quality audits Leading efforts to respond to customer feedback for quality improvements Acting as a Quality contact for internal and external customers Working with suppliers to improve the quality of products delivered to the facility Implementing and supporting Supplier Certification programs both internally and externally Providing support for corporate quality-related programs Leading and strengthening work teams relative to efficiency The Quality Supervisor is the quality subject matter expert for a facility, communicates and promotes the quality philosophy and provides guidance to various quality areas in the facility.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Engineering or Manufacturing-related discipline degreeEnglish 85% (written, read and spoken)Minimum of 5 years of work experience in progressively responsible quality / manufacturing rolesSuperior understanding of quality management practicesUnderstanding and knowledge of APQP process and documentation (Control Plan, FMEA,PPAP)General knowledge of shop operations and maintenance proceduresExcellent problem-solving skillsDemonstrated leadership skillsGood interpersonal, communications, teamwork and collaboration skills DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Ability to work with diverse teams of employees and customersStrong understanding of measurement systems
