Is beBee Becoming a Habit Fractal?

Is beBee Becoming a Habit Fractal?

Is beBee Becoming a Habit Fractal?

I enjoy reading and the exchange of ideas with interested readers. I used to spend good times reading posts on other platforms and posting on them as well. All of a sudden I found myself much more immersed in beBee and almost solely publishing posts on its site.
Changing habits is not easy. Changing life style and the way we choose to live is even more difficult. I believe lifestyle is the aggregation of our habits and this determines our lifestyles. For example, if I have the habit of eating healthy food combined with the habit of taking my weight regularly to keep a good health then I have an emerging lifestyle based on how my habits interact.

A habit might develop into a series of cascaded habits to form a fractal of habits. To explain, when I am on bee daily then this behavior turns into a habit. If I see selected posts by few bees then I read them right away. If I comment on those buzzes repeatedly then I am building a habit. If I also share the same buzzes then again I am developing a habit. Those habits result in my lifestyle.

The question that I haven't yet answered is pertaining to why did I almost substitute one lifestyle with another in a short time span? Habits hate vacuum and if one habit disappears another habit forms to fill the vacuum. Why did I make the change and leave behind me a fractal of habits? Surely, money is not an issue, but then why?

I believe that we change when two forces act simultaneously. One force is feeling restless where you are because of feeling the injustice. If a platform highlights always the same authors, the majority of authors shall feel ignored. Bad feelings may accumulate to reach a high level of dissatisfaction. In the absence of a suitable substitute the "disheartened authors" shall become prisoners of complaining-based habits. And those habits could lead to bad lifestyles. This may reflect in the negativity with which they comment on.

The other supporting factor is when substitute and powerful publishing platforms comes to life and live to its potential. The complaining authors and readers shall travel to the new platform without hesitation. It is creating a strong internal motivation that made the migration easier

Birds migrate when the weather becomes or close to become harsh and when food is of short supply. It is survival at risk. We humans migrate not only from one country to the other, but also from one platform to another. It seems when we have developed strong motivation that we migrate.

Why then the migration from a bad habit to a good one is difficult? My view is the lack of internal motivation. Like we migrated to beBee with strong motivation from within, we need same motivation to quit smoking cigarettes, as an example.

Is beBee Becoming a Habit Fractal?

beBee realizes a great fact that to connect you have to be in the right place, with the right orientation and with no hindrances to accessibility to where you are. It is the same with chemical reactions. No reaction shall happen if molecules (bees) are distant, with the wrong orientation and with hindrances for molecules to interact. Those bees may choose their hives (right location) with clear purposes and with no restrictions allow for bees to connect and react. This is a formula for success.

Your very intuitive Ali Anani. I worry about others to the point that it's not healthy for me. I will always worry and think of others first, it's just my nature. But, I need to find balance. :))

I am not a medical doctor Lisa Gallagher, but dare say you are an extremely sensitive person and caring. Yes, getting the first step right is the surest way to lessen your care for others without feeling guilty about it. I feel a lot of yourself talk is centered around people you care for.

It's very busy. The bees that buzz in my head need to rest in their honeycomb at night ;-) I actually went to the Dr about it today. He told me we still need to work on some other pressing issues and I need to put my guilt about not being able to sleep (and getting up later than I prefer) on the back burner. He said once I heal the sleep issue will begin to heal on it's own. I think he's right. He gave me a lot of hope today. The cool thing, he's a DOCTOR and suggested a certain therapy over meds!! It's a therapy I've mentioned and we haven't quite used it yet. It's a slow process but getting closer to beginning that process.

I don't know and don't need to know the exact comment Ali Anani. All I can say is that in any community and social engagement, there is a minimum of expectation regarding exchange of opinions. At the same time, we don't have control over others' personalities and so it is important to remember that a negative behavior reflects on the person it's coming from, not at who it was directed.

The enter send the message directly and this is annoying as enter naturally means starting a new line. I started a new line because of you Lisa Gallagher and all my friends here. I love comments, but also I like explanations. If you tell me my writing is bad that is OK. But at least give me one reason so that I may improve. This is the real issue. I make a habit even of extracting the main points or highlighting the part that I liked most so that my feedback may be of benefit and not a comment that is like shooting darts in the darkness..

I read this again Ali Anani and I think the points you made are very valid. I for one, find it wonderful to read diverse posts- I learn from others in this way. So, in a sense I migrate away from my comfort zone. There are some who will disagree with the next statement I make and that's ok. But, I also find there is a nice way to disagree without coming off like a 'know it all,' or as a rude person." I find there is no reason what so ever to become such a vocal person at the expense of hurting another's feelings. No one is paid to write on Social Media, so I don't agree that BECAUSE we write we are subject to criticism. Healthy discussions without pointing fingers, yes, harsh criticism, No. If I become a paid pundit or writer that writes controversial topics, by all means criticize me. However, if I'm writing to share information, a personal story etc.. and I'm not pointing fingers at others in my writings I find it rude for anyone to tell me my thoughts are wrong. My thoughts are just that, mine. I'm glad I read this again because most people write for the same reasons you, myself and many others do- to share and discuss on a human level. We expect nothing in return except common decency.

Sara Jacobovici, nicely articulated! "The why," so true, without pause we it's not possible to watch the flowers grow. My grandmother had a beautiful garden which reminds me of 'The secret garden,' I used to go into her garden and get lost in my thoughts/imagination. At one with nature!

Ali Anani, well I feel very honored!! Please, if I miss it- will you send me a link? I'm running a hive and I've noticed I missed a few articles contained within my hive too. Thanks for the congrats, we are SO excited. After losing mom, I keep reminding myself if I become sad that we are gaining a new life- that gives me happy chills. When we have grandchildren we can live vicariously through them and with them! The new little one will be loved by so many. He/she also will have loving grandparents on my daughter's husband's side of the family too. My daughter's mother in law is from Okinawa and she's so much fun. We get along like sisters and I've learned so much from her and about her culture.

What can I say Ali Anani finds herself. Motivation is certainly a common element, nutrient, that will influence growth; where that is placed will influence the type of flower or its viability. But motivation can change as quickly as the direction of the wind and that will effect where this lands and which flowers will be touched. So crucial for us to be aware of what I have seen appear often in your discussions; the "why". If we pause and reflect on the why, we have more control of the motivation and place it where we choose. And then we can sit back and watch the flowers grow!

Thank you Milos Djukic for an important framework and perspective. I would like to contribute by suggesting that the equilibrium from within incorporates elements from the external. "...we establish our perspective and then foster purpose" Great line CityVP Manjit. As a process oriented person I suggest that this is not linear and that we experience one moving in, through, merging and so on with the other; sometimes purpose comes before perspective, sometimes the 2 come together and form one, and so on. An important insight and provocative thought Mangit. Thank you.

CityVP Manjit, beautiful words and beautiful mantra you live by out of love for your children. We are currently awaiting the arrival of our 3rd grandbaby (we have 2 out in Colorado) and don't get to see them nearly enough. My grandson loves to tell jokes and he told me one last week (he's 5 yrs old), anyhow- he had me laughing so hard he yelled, "Hey dad, Nana can't stop laughing." I think he felt proud that his joke was so funny. My daughter and her husband will be bringing a new life into this world in less than 7 weeks. They live in the same town, so I can't wait to spoil him or her, in a good way!

nearly 17 years ago I thought the most defining moment in my life, and nothing I have thought before or since has been personally as defining, as my mind 1999 that said......."I don't care if they call me papa or dada, but they are the centre of my universe...not work...them".......I have utterly lived that because it was not simply an passing thought at one point of my life, it was a salute of intent and what has followed I can only call as "BLESSINGS". As I write this now I move into June 1st 2016 - by the time the month finally ends, I will prepare to give away my third daughter and witness the 2nd arrival of the next generation. That thought on 4th December 1999 is firm in my mind because I have always kept that as my compass and I still do. How you Lisa Gallagher or Margaret or Ali Anani et al find your True North is your compass, for the best I can really say here is, keep your compass pointing to the way your heart points. Such a compass is the most supreme of all our habit fractals.

Nature systems grow and emerge following simple rules. I, like you, CityVP Manjit, prefer emergence over control. Even if we control, we change the interaction rules and them something else might emerge. I always wonder if we can design creation, but innovation I believe we can

All this lovey exchange of comments went on while asleep. Yes, Milos Djukic I love your comment with its fullness that stirred the lovely discussions that followed. You know I agree. The important point for me here was the small changes in policies that led to hugely negative differences by LI. I spent so much time trying to be a serious role model for my children (even though I did teach them through imagination) how to play creatively without toys and use their imaginations. I am just now finding it's OK to be the silly (in a good way) person I've always been, and not to be afraid to share it with others, as long as it's all in good humor and hurts no one, like the video I posted the other day- that WAS the type of person I used to be, carefree. I'm trying to find her again. Just wandering in flower gardens brings back many childhood fantasies for me. Glad you are able to enjoy your child within Milos Djukic, and good point about the beginning of stagnation, could not agree more!

Milos Djukic

منذ 7 سنوات #19

Me too Lisa Gallagher. "For some people, childlike behavior, after reaching maturity, can be an indication of emotional immaturity. I have a tendency for revert to childish behavior. Children love to play; their game is a fascinating evidence of commitment to truth. Children are inexhaustible source of some of the most wonderful wisdom. The problem is that most adults with years gradually lose the mind of a toy. Termination of playing is the ultimate sign of the beginning of stagnation." - from "Leadership and Successful Human Conversations", Linkedin long-form post

Lisa Gallagher

Milos Djukic so true, childrens minds aren't polluted by the adult world and they are so open to new experiences, open to others, non-judgemental. Kids are precious. I miss being that innocent!!

Milos Djukic

منذ 7 سنوات #17

Dear CityVP Manjitl, You have mentioned a few of the reasons why I love kids and their beginner's mind and smiles. They are spared from the upcoming twilight of adults leadership.

CityVP Manjit

منذ 7 سنوات #16

Dear Milos Djukic In emergence thought #21 is emergent, unless we put our designs on it to try to change it, emergence is to appreciate the thought rather than take it, change it, reassemble it and for many the world is still an assembly line of thoughts. There is indeed money to be made from such assembly, but I personally prefer the scent of emergence than the cent from assembly. Now, when something truly alive comes along we can poison it with the dead things, for destruction is much easier to remember than creation, to the extent we can carry that for a lifetime. If that was not so, we would immediately notice our beautiful Earth and we would lose the weight of thoughts we no longer need to carry. In the writing of people like Margaret Wheatley,http://www.margaretwheatley.com/articles/unplannedorganization.html I find that emergent voice that self-organizes in my listening. For me even the critical remarks become an object of beauty - because I now notice the harmony between destruction and creation is emergent. In this regard we allow the mind that may have been set on endings within us, to shift to a mind that now is reset to beginnings - a beginners mind or at the very least capable of appreciating not what was but what is.

Milos Djukic

منذ 7 سنوات #15

Thank you dear Ali Anani) The future of LI publishing platform (complex adaptive system) is highly uncertain. Any kind of manipulation is ultimately fatal for the one who manipulated within complex adaptive systems. We need self-organizing system in order to be adaptive and sustainable. Their current algorithm does not provide an adequate degree of self-organization. It is well known that "Fine scales influence large scale behavior" - the butterfly effect. We need co-evolution of all writers and that means same rules for all, without manipulation. Since "We" (not all) have recent "environment" changes (strict algorithmic control of exposure) on LI, we also need to change our behaivour in order to ensure best fit. Currently, there is no solution (best fit) other than dissatisfaction and highly critical remarks (massively: as many of us) or maybe finally withdrawing from the game. That is the main reason why are we all here now (beBee) Those people who build this fractal core should be respected, rewarded, and treated with love. There's still a lot of work to be done. Enthusiasm tends to be short-lived. I think we need to be very sensible and realistic. "Order is not pressure which is imposed on society from without, but an equilibrium which is set up from within." - José Ortega y Gasset, Mirabeau and Politics.

Great thoughts CityVP Manjit and I believe also that beliefs may be fractal in that one belief is nested in another. Gandhi was surely ahead of his time. You amaze me with your eloquence " If we see that, we see the fractals in our habits in relationship to that. Then we will know that footprints can be different in size, fingerprints unique in variety, but the blueprint of life - the commonality we all share". Yes, we grow beautifully together; yet me keep our authenticity. Just reading the comments on this buzz is the proof. Each one has its personality and yet they grow each other.

CityVP Manjit

Thoughts lead to habits and the fractals are thoughts, so Dear Ali Anani your fractal #16 is an example of the fractal ability we share. In that all ideas conceived in this world first resulted from a thought. When we understand the nature of thought, we can look in the thought, and see another thought, and in that another thought - we can also pull back and look at the picture of thought and see it as whole and not see the fractal. Gandhi however did not begin with thoughts but beliefs http://bit.ly/25xzDlL but this is still all within our same fractal nature, that distinguishes us highly individual and unique AND full of infinite depths that emanates from the universal, which is expressed by the words "we are all stardust". If we see that, we see the fractals in our habits in relationship to that. Then we will know that footprints can be different in size, fingerprints unique in variety, but the blueprint of life - the commonality we all share.

The same minute I was commenting on your buzz CityVP Manjit you were commenting on mine. Your habits are scaling up and the fractal of your habits is shining with authenticity my friend.

CityVP Manjit

منذ 7 سنوات #10

Noting that fractals are self-similar at a higher level of abstraction, the fractal I put forward on my post about a famous singer was about FOOTPRINT. If the habits we exchange are an exact mirror of the habits exchanged at a greater dimension, then we have found a fractal. In this manner the habits I have are contained in the scale of my footprint, whereas the habits for the famous singer is still the same fractal or in my example a footprint - but the world feels and see's that habit in a totally different way. What is key is knowing this footprint as a fractal - from that we establish our perspective and then foster purpose. https://www.bebee.com/producer/@cityvp-manjit/sir-i-m-no-enrique-iglesias

Yes, Michael Jones. There is a critical mass involved. You just notice two neighboring shops selling same items. If one has more shoppers than the other people tend to walk in it. It is the feeling of belonging and that the masses can't be wrong thinking (though it can be wrong). I expect beBee soon to have exponential growth in numbers.
