Mind Batteries of the Genius
What makes a genius person? Why do we remember names such as Shakespeare, Copernicus and Newton even though they passed long times ago? Every one of them wasn't just "one ingenuity shot in the arm"; in contrast every one excelled in almost everything he did. These gentlemen were separated in time and space. They lived in different environments. Was it there "internal environments" that shaped them up? And, if yes, what are the specifics of these ?
I mentioned in one of my replies here the genius Arab poet al-Mutanabbi. His poetry is occupies our thinking with his wisdom-packed poetry even though he passed away more than one thousand years ago. CityVP Manjit referred to a very important point in one of his responses to one of my comments. Manjit wrote "and a poem can take us into the universe but the poet brings us back to the core". How can the core of a great poet who was orphaned from his parents and looked after by relatives take us far away into the far horizons? Or, one must still have chaos in oneself to be able to give birth to a dancing star, as the German Philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche said? Is that chaotic core taking us to starry ideas? That is an advanced thinking. Al-Mutanabbi had chaos within himself and that we know for sure. He felt isolated from the society because he was taken care of by different parties during his childhood. Socially, he was orphaned because he didn't belong to influential family. In contrast, he knew his poetry was of far greater level than all the poets of his time (and all times). He used his poetry to try to gain social influence by praising men of power. One he succeeded momentarily, his mood was great and positive. When he failed to gain a respected social position in spite of his unbelievable poetic power he turned into praising himself to the extent he nicknamed himself al-Mutanabbi (self-proclaimed prophet). He put himself in a level that society wouldn't grant it. His bifurcation between self praising and the praise of rulers and the contradiction by praising a ruler today and criticizing him tomorrow shows the great chaos he was living in. The swing between self-inflated and inflating other, between gaining self-actualization by praising influential people to self-inflating to get the recognition he needed resulted in him being a core of chaos. The pendulum swung chaotically between self-fulfilling directly or through others created enough potential to drive ingenuity.
Do genius people have high potential difference between thinking optimistically a pessimistically? Or, between thinking positively or negatively? Or, between being inward looking and outward looking? Is this differential potential is so high to drive the "mini batteries in their minds" to become genius?
What do you think?

Dear Ali Anani. "Chaos plays a crucial role in initiation and expression of our creativity. When there is no fear, chaos becomes a generator of new ideas and an integral part of some fruitful truth-seeking oriented journey There are great rewards as a results of initial conditions (the ”Butterfly Effect”) and repeated self-discovery of ubiquitous chaos. In this special case, the initial conditions are faith, knowledge and willingness to follow our true self-similar nature." - from LI long-form post entitled: "The Secret Human Qualities That Truly Matter".

A classic example of a "divine accident" is the one that happened to Steve Jobs and in his case there was more than one in his life. The most transformational to his eventual success was after the board of Apple fired Jobs from his own company. In the resulting soul searching he was mentored with two giants of Silicon Valley David Packard and Bob Noyce, With this divine accident when he eventually was asked to save the company he had founded, the direction he took transformed and by his own account that is when he learned to connect the dots backwards https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UF8uR6Z6KLc

Fantastic metaphor and deep thinking by the thinker William King. You remind me so much of my research on photoacoustic spectroscopy. By trapping air in a test tube using a dark material that almost sinks to the bottom of the tube and exposing the sample to heating using light of different wavelengths we hear a sound. This sounds results from the heating of the dark material (such as cork), which then heats the trapped air. Now, we may measure the sound intensity versus the light wavelength and we have the photoacoustic spectrum. This is different for all materials. We may also study the surface of the material and the inner layers. Some materials produce noise much more than others.

I am of the belief a genius, in any field, may not create or invent but reveal what was hidden to most others and allow us to see, hear or feel- I am quoting you William King. I agree and I still wonder why only few people reveal? A great writer like Taha Hussein (nicknamed the Dean of Arab Writers) was blind since the age of three and yet he revealed so many interesting ideas. Being blind was not a deterrent. I am still wondering my friend

" but it is equally true that the divine accident can be lost in the smoke because of the heat of our passions - passionate urge is inside meets out, while divine accidents in- That is a very interesting idea and a form of advanced thinking. Accidents come to those who are ready for it and deserve it. But how about repeating accidents for the same prson? Do you think same principle applies?

from Anees Zaidi & follow up from #26 Ali Anani. : The passionate urge and the battle that intensifies is certainly is a very valid observation. The passionate urge is always expressed in the field of the known. Through the known we convert this appreciation. It is through the unknown we are converted by the blessing and here there is something else that will be a surprise to our attention, and that is the divine accident. This is the blessing from the unknown and in this blessing many a splendid transformation can occur. It is true that many do not convert their passionate urge or see the point of battling, but it is equally true that the divine accident can be lost in the smoke because of the heat of our passions - passionate urge is inside meets out, while divine accident is outside meets in. In this we find the meeting point between appreciation and blessing and so both are wondrous in their own being.

With all honesty I feel we are getting closer to finding out what makes a genius Anees Zaidi. You could take Gandhi as an example and show how his patience in troubled heart with a troubled country made him a genius. Nelson Mandela is another example from recent history. I think new insights are emerging.

Once again CityVP Manjit one of your "comments" leaves me with so much. Thanks for the link. I am a fan of Immanuel Kant. I didn't know he coined the term genius in the 1700s, I find his definition very interesting: he "defined it as the rare capacity to independently understand concepts that would normally have to be taught by another person." Also, in connection with your discussion on genius and madness, you inspired me to post Kafka's description of a "beakdown" in my mental health Hive.

I greatly appreciate the idea of patience. That is interesting. I was thinking of Einstein and his powerful imagination while writing the post. Now, we add patience. But was his mind in a state of stability or was it changing directions to come up with the best one. Minds of discovery and divergence to end up in a stable convergence. You got me thinking and trapped in an unstable thinking process. Do we need to increase chaos so that an orderly idea may emerge? I tend to think so.
