The Ripples from Ideas Pebbles
I was in the process of writing this buzz with another direction till the disruptive thinker CityVP Manjit published a buzz. Reading Manjit's buzzes and comments are always like to cause a disturbing effect to the mind. Disturbance may lead to the emerging of new possibilities, ideas and understandings. This is what I am conveying to the reader now.
Manjit referred to a post titled "Microbes Have Been Found Growing "Out of Nowhere" After a Volcanic Eruption". From this post I quote the following "It's helpful to remember that each drop of seawater contains millions of bacteria and that only one of them, in theory, is needed to colonise a new habitat, says Kirchman". This prompted Manjit to write in his buzz "Once we understand that we are composed of bacteria and that we cannot live without bacteria, then it is an enlightenment to understand that relationship even though science has barely begun to understand these relationships including findings related to gut-mind".
This writing was the bifurcation point for me. I responded to Manjit by writing "Your writing "My motivation here is the understanding that the quality of soil that emanates from volcanoes and not simply the volcano" is indicative that you are more than a "whole thinker" or systemic thinker. You are a complexity thinker as you see the whole to understand the parts. Understanding the parts may not lead to the understanding of the whole. You are a great thinker CityVp Manjit".
Will a complexity thinker study the parts in the hope of understanding the whole? I believe this is a misleading approach. Can we separate human beings from the fact that around 78% of the human brain is water? In each drop of water how many bacteria live? When we throw a pebble in water and make ripples will not we also move the bacteria inside the water? What if the ideas are so disruptive like a volcano and new forms of bacteria come into existence and we find ourselves living in a new world?
Not all pebbles are the same. Not all waters are the same. Not all the environments surrounding water in which we throw pebbles are the same. What we know for sure is that throwing a pebble in water will make ripples. Some ideas are like very impacting as they send strong ripples in our minds and new "bacteria of thinking" evolves. Disruption opens the door for not only finding new ways of thinking, but also new species and unknown pebbles that initiate new life all together.
Yes, a human is not a bacteria but the human body is filled with them and in the waters filling their brains as well.

I love this "The universe to discover resides with in our own minds and the earth we reside". Thank you Kevin Baker and I am glad the buzz is of some value to you.

Thanks siraj shaik- The fourth dimension- the timespace dimension- is a wonderful idea to undertake. The capacity of a system as determined by a 3-dimensional place is the intriguing embedded idea in your comment. In fact, I am writing a buzz on same topic soon. You are a mind-reader my friend.

Jeet Sarkar- thank you and I enjoy the idea of spherical minds. Yes, we are mainly bodies of water and our bodies are the container. It is up to us what to feill these waters with. WE have many choices, and it is up to to decide what choices to make.

Sara Jacobovici- this is a fascinating quote and I love it. Yes, I agree totally with it and it expresses my own thinking as well. The story of the blind and the elephant pops up again with a different face.

Sara Jacobovici- there are so many definitions of creativity. Your comment inspires me with a new one. This is from this part of your comment " reminds me of the issues related to the blood-brain barrier. One of the medical developments is that there are now medications that can pass through the blood-brain barrier".It is finding barriers and crossing them is the new definition. SO many examples are flowing in my mind or say I feel the ripples of ideas falling on the waters of my mind. Where is there a barrier there exists the opportunity for creative thinking. Thank you dear Sara for the inspiration.

#17 This discussion gentlemen, Ali Anani, Brand Ambassador @beBee, reminds me of the issues related to the blood-brain barrier. One of the medical developments is that there are now medications that can pass through the blood-brain barrier. This is considered an advancement because the field of medicine has decided that there are certain elements that the brain needs and were prevented from entering, and now they can. My naive question is, why were they prevented from passing into the brain in the first place. I haven't researched this enough to speak of the benefits (of which I am sure they do exist), I can only speak from the point of view of witnessing what effects this had had on my mom; so far, she doesn't seem to like the effects of what happens when she takes medication that crosses the blood-brain barrier.

Thank you for your very informative comment and links CityVP 🐝 Manjit. I recall once that I wrote that negative thinking is a kind of bacteria in our brains. Let me start with a quote "Microbial communities are found at many different sites on the human body, including nasal passages, oral cavities, skin, gastrointestinal tract, and urogenital tract. These commensal microbes shape the immune and metabolic status of the host and play important roles in human health and disease. The brain is one organ that has been assumed to be sterile in the healthy host, but this is probably not true – apparently we have bacteria in our brains"! http://www.virology.ws/2013/06/28/bacteria-in-our-brains/ This is consistent with your comment. As for bacteria in the brain apparently there are. I personally have always wondered how our brains have 78% of their weight water and with no bacteria! Whether yes or no, we do have negative attitudes and thinking that do. One last point- bacteria whether present in the brain or not they still affect the digestive systems, which is in turn linked to the brain. We humans may send the wrong and harmful like-bacteria resulting from our senses to the brain. If we are hurt by our senses, which feed the brain, them indirectly we are hurting the brain.

What amazes me Joyce 🐝 Bowen Brand Ambassador @ beBee is that some people use many terms such as viral marketing and then I read objections on same. Sometimes I find the presence of bodies in huge numbers are conduit indeed. See how trees communicate through the earth greatest web of algae. I am just searching for possibilities.

I have read some works a few years ago that questioned science's venture into micro instead of macro. Macro being the end use and application. It was some interesting dialogue. Mainly it discussed the balance of time and money was disproportionate.

Just a question out of the billion users of mobile phones how many understand the science behind it? The best theory is an applied one and the users are sometimes find better applications than the originator. I wonder even how some artists applied fractal design and paintings even before Mandelbrot and others knew any thing about fractals! Does knowledge spoil us sometimes? A worthy topic on its own Harvey Lloyd

Science is a wonderful thing. We can deconstruct something and generalize that information for future use. There is another science of application that is equally exciting, the science of application Not to discount basic science but rather to show that the shovel was/is a wonderful tool of efficiency in the hands of skilled folks Truly a very over simplified view. I am always fascinated by those who take the ordinary and do extraordinary things. Without understanding the science.

Absolutely correct Harvey Lloyd in that the whole is greater than the parts. In complexity science we know this is very true. This is why leaving out some parts can be mistaken. A minor component might make the big differences later on. Complex systems aren't subject to the Newtonian thinking.

Absolutely dear Laurent Boscherini. We need to broaden our perspective because we can't ignore the components of a system even these components are invisible to the eye. Yes, it is the beginning.
