How to start your innovation engine

How to start your innovation engine

If you suffer from no time to innovate… if you can’t figure out where to start... if you need fresh innovative ideas on ways to transform business while using your existing systems... if you want to start your innovation engine… then this message is for you. Here’s why:

Listening to Thriving at the Crossroads: real business problems meet real solutions podcast will bring you new ideas each week from innovative technology companies solving real business problems. You’ll get to hear new solutions for old problems. I do the research and find the companies.  But best of all, you get to be a fly on the wall while I ask the obvious questions that you need to know in order to understand if this innovative solution is right for your company. It will all be done in plain, human English, as I minimize the techno speak. But best of all - you get to listen in without being entered into a sales pipeline!

Please realize, there is a cost to not dealing with this and not innovating… If You Ignore It, You’ll fall further behind.

What most people do when facing no new innovative ideas is let someone else drive innovation, blame everyone around them for a lack of good ideas or give up and accept the status quo. And for most people, that just doesn’t produce.  What got you here, won’t get you where you need to go.

      • Other companies are transforming around you and they are eating your competitive lunch.

      • Budgets and re-investments are cut because no one can come up with good opportunities that don’t always cost millions. Ergo, you and those around you become disengaged because you can’t affect change. We end up looking like this:

How to start your innovation engine

What happens if you just do nothing? If you just keep doing what you’ve been doing? Your company will fall further behind, there will be less and less investments in new projects and technologies, and you won’t see new opportunities that will help you grow professionally.  Those old bottlenecks and constraints won't move on their own. Do you really want to be in the same place a year from now that you are today?  If not, how will you get to where you want to go?

How I start the innovation engine

I’ve got an answer that works. Here’s my story: I’ve spent over 15-years implementing ERP systems, learning the ins and outs. Large, big, slow…… I still implement those systems and I understand today’s challenges. But I’ve also spent the last five years engaged in the startup community. It’s a fast paced, dynamic and innovative area, and it can feel like the antithesis of the enterprise systems world. I’ve learned that I can borrow ideas from the startup world and capitalize on how this world approaches problems differently. The startup world can give us the jolt we need to challenge our status quo. And I will help you blend those two crossroads to see solutions that may be right for your company.  For many companies, even visibility to start-ups is challenging.  Let me do the work of finding them for you.

OR Take a new action, and get a new result. You can finally get your innovation engine moving with new ideas and new approaches for those same old boring problems. If podcasts aren’t your thing- that is fine.  Find something that helps get the creative juices flowing.
