5 Must Have Product Marketing Documents

5 Must Have Product Marketing Documents

Created this presentation, rather than writing an article.  It is focused on those documents each Product Marketing professional needs to have in their back pocket – they are the foundation of any planning documents, marketing facing documents and sales training documents for your product or service.  Let me know what you think in the comments.

View the slide presentation on Slideshare or on my website, or email/message me and I'll send you the file.  Contact me when you come across a product marketing problem and want a solution - that's what I do!

Hmmm, I'm brand new to beBee and it seems I can't have a line feed in a comment. Not good. I meant to add that I did like the other four and think they are critical.

I agree with Arnie's statement about #1. I'm in software and many new markets are pure guesswork. Plenty of consulting companies make big bucks selling their "market size predictions," but it's really just them pulling numbers out of the air.

#4 ... I've got some additional presentations/articles to expand upon this area ... it comes down to two things (1) you may have the best idea/company/product in the world, but if there isn't a market to sustain it - what's the point and (2) in the beginning, the idea is more important than anything else. Don't be scared to pursue something, just because there is competition - even a very large competitor. Amazon would never have launched (either their shopping site or their AWS services) if they focused too much on established competition. It's important to understand, but it's not the most critical aspect of product marketing.

#3 I agree about the competition not being a priority or something to focus on. Great tips!!
