The Honey Hive: How to discover your talents. (Anna’s Talk)

Lesson 1: Dream big or How to attract what you wish for. Motivational Part. Practical Course.

Our mind is a really interesting thing, it is the one that allows us to develop and understand how the things work. However, sometimes it can not recognise such simple things as what you are good at, what you do really well without putting too much effort on it. 

Ironically our talents are the ones that will help us in life (maybe daily things or maybe huge decisions such as our career). However, sometimes it is a bit difficult to find them.

Part 1: THINK ABOUT IT.

Step 1: Reflect on it .

Open your mind.  Sometimes you are too focused on the things you are doing wrong. And you don't realise the things that you are doing properly. 

Step 2: Remember your past.

While reflecting on the past, start looking at your past. Look at the things you used to do when you were younger, the things you enjoyed the most. Ask yourself questions such as:

What have I done that I am proud of? or  when was I so proud of myself that didn’t care about others?

It’s good to remember your childhood. What did you enjoy doing? What did you use to do a lot? Asking yourself these questions might help you discover your talents. 

Another thing that you should reflect on is your challenges. Sometimes challenges let us discover the things you are good at. It doesn’t need to be something like dancing or drawing, your talents can be such things as being able to control our emotions. 

Step 3: Reflect on what you like.

The things that make you happy, are usually the ones you enjoy doing. 

What makes your time go fast? What are other people asking you advice for?  What are you really passionate about when you talk?

Step 4: Write a story of your life.

This exercise might help you understand and find your talents. Write about how were you during your childhood.  Your dreams, the things you looked forward, even things that you now think are “impossible” .

This might help you understand your priorities and the things you are good at, as when you are a kid you don’t think about society and what others around you think, so your dreams, passions and talents are pure and they are not judged by anyone.

Step 5: Ask others.

 If after all of this you still can not think of anything, go and ask others, as sometimes you are too hard on yourself and you can’t evaluate things properly and look through all the perspectives. 

Part 2: EXPERIMENT IN REAL LIFE. 

 Step 1: Try new things.

If you spend all your free time watching TV, or just being lazy (which sometimes is good, but not too often) you won’t be able to experience things that might make you realise that you have a talent. Enjoy life!

Step 2: Dedicate some time for yourself.

It’s true that others around you might help you find and develop your talents, however, it is also important to spend some time alone, getting to know yourself better is really important. 

Step 3: Develop the skills you already have.

Maybe you have tried something new and you like it, if so, it is important to spend some time on it. Who knows , maybe you are developing a new talent?

Step 4:Try new activities.

If you feel that others around you are better, that they have more talents than you; then you are wrong. It is just that you still haven’t found what you are good at. So try new things and find some of your talents, that are unknown to you at the moment. 

Step 5:Travel to expand your experiences.

Travelling can let you figure out more about yourself. However, don’t go with a guide on a planned trip or anything similar. Go by yourself, and explore and you’ll be surprised at how much you will learn about yourself. 

Step 6: Volunteer and help others. 

Living your life and seeing things from just your perspective is not good. So, volunteer and experience how other people live, your priorities might change and you might discover some qualities inside you that can help you on a daily life basis. 

I encourage you to try these exercises and comment in this buzz about your experience. I will mindfully read all your comments, and answer all your questions or doubts, and I will provide you my feedback in the process. I would need 2-3 volunteers to realise all the exercises of this course and to openly comment them to add more life to this course. In exchange I promise you that you will have a fully coaching advice and guidance during the process.
