The honey hive: How to achieve easily and with happiness what you wish for. Practical course.

Being busy didn’t make us feel happy, but it created the illusion that we do what is needed. Most of us are fiercely defensive of our busyness. However , when life is busy, it's all too easy to find yourself off balance, not paying enough attention to important areas of your life and taking this too far can lead to frustration and intense stress.

That's when it's time to take a "helicopter view" of your life, so that you can bring things back into balance. También es necesario para poder localizar e identificar los aobjetivos que marcaremos para este curso,

Para poder llevar a cabo este interesante y tan necesario ejercicio utilizaremos una herramienta que en coaching se conoce Life Wheel.

So, Action!!

Physical Environment Career

Fun and
Recreation

/ Health

Personal Growth

Significant Other / Romance Friends and Family

The Wheel of Life is a great tool to help you improve your life balance. It helps you quickly and graphically identify the areas in your life to which you want to devote more energy, and helps you understand where you might want to cut back.

The challenge now is to transform this knowledge and desire for a more balanced life into a positive program of action.

1. Brainstorm Life Areas

Answer this questions:

Career

Is my job rewarding?

Does it reflect my values?

Do I have opportunity for advancement?

Health

Am I generally fit and well?

Do I eat healthily?

Do I exercise regularly?

Money

Do I earn enough and live within my means?

Do I save enough?

Am I planning for financial freedom?

Friends and Family

Do I have/want a close circle of friends?

Do I spend enough time with family and friends?

Do I value the relationship we have with each other?

Fun and Recreation

Do I have fun often?

Do I know how to relax?

Do I enjoy sports or have hobbies?

Physical Environment

Do I like the area in which I live?

Is my home comfortable, tidy and warm?

Do I keep my appearance smart?

Is my car serviced and reliable?

Personal Growth

Am I continually learning new things?

Do I enjoy new opportunities for growth?

Are the things I do growing me as a person?

Significant other/Romance

Do I have/want a soul mate?

Do we share values and intimacy?

Am I nurturing the relationship we have with each other?

2. Assess Each Area

This approach assumes that you will be happy and fulfilled if you can find the right balance of attention for each of these dimensions. And different areas of your life will need different levels of attention at different times. So the next step is to assess the amount of attention you're currently devoting to each area.

Consider each dimension in turn, and on a scale of 0 (low) – to 10 (high), write down the amount of attention you're devoting to that area of your life. Mark each score on the appropriate spoke of your Life Wheel.

3. Join Up the Marks

Now join up the marks around the circle. Does your life wheel look and feel balanced?

4. Interpreting Your Wheel

What you are aiming for with your completed wheel is to have all segments scored evenly, above 6 and as near 10 as possible.

If you have some segments scored lower than 7, possibly some with particularly low scores, then it is necessary to investigate how they may interact with each other in order to identify the area to address first.

For example, with the wheel of life, if there are low scores for Money, Career, Personal Growth and Fun & Recreation, it may be that the low score for Personal Growth could be linked to a low Career rating or it could be that this person has not been concentrating on their personal development.

Fun & Recreation scored low could be tied to the low score regarding Money.

Not having sufficient money could mean that a person may be unable to go out or engage in recreation that has an appreciable cost associated with it, which can lead to a low level of morale and lack of desire to have fun.

A low score for Money could also be tied to the low score for Career, though it may be that money is low due to poor financial management.

Hence it can be that a low score in one category can result from other factors and that working to improve the score in a category can have a 'knock-on' effect on other areas.

5. Think About Your Ideal Level

Next it's time to consider your ideal level in each area of your life. And inevitably you will need to make choices and compromises, as your time and energy are not in unlimited supply!

So the question is, what would the ideal level of attention be for you in each life area?

5. Take Action

Now you have a visual representation of your current life balance and your ideal life balance. What are the gaps? These are the areas of your life that need attention.

And remember that gaps can go both ways. There are almost certainly areas that are not getting as much attention as you'd like. However there may also be areas where you're putting in more effort than you'd ideally like. These areas are sapping energy and enthusiasm that may better be directed elsewhere.

Once you have identified the areas that need attention, it's time to plan the actions needed to work on regaining balance. Starting with the neglected areas, what things do you need to start doing to regain balance? In the areas that currently sap your energy and time, what can you stop doing or reprioritize or delegate to someone else? Make a commitment to these actions by writing them on your worksheet.

6. Picture your life y meditate about it.

Think about the name of the tool you use, it is called  wheel of life, imagine that your life is a car, now add the wheels from the drawing into the car. Is it going to work properly?

Remember, it is really important to take care of ALL the areas in your life in a parallel way. To graduate first, to get a good job,  to buy a house, to get married, finish paying your debt, and afterwards travelling. This kind of approach to your life is completely wrong, the important thing is knowing how to be able to do everything in a parallel way, just like this we are going to achieve the perfect wheels for our car to go forward. You need to find the balance.

Balance: so easy and difficult at the same time.
