Lowe re p= Leave ove Lowe wre iventprofs 828 Bloggers Network 5I've been active here for just 5 days and I've made no secret of the fact that I am blown away by beBee. That's what I said in my recent blog post on The Huffington Post:



On any new platform, it can take a while to figure things out as a newbie, these are some things that I've found helpful to know as I have learned my way around the platform.


Who's Who

  • Co-founders: Javier beBee (Javier Cámara) and Juan beBee (Juan Imaz)
  • USA President & CEO: Matt Sweetwood

Unlike other platforms, they are highly visible. You will see them buzzing around and supporting your buzzes and honey here and on other social media platforms.

Terminology

This site uses a lot of terms that are relevant to bee hives.

  • Bees: Members
  • Hives: Groups
  • Honey: Blog posts
  • Buzzes: Status updates
  • Relevant: Similar to like on other platforms
  • Brand Ambassadors: I don't know their job description but they are members and they are very helpful. They make you feel welcome, answer your questions, support your efforts here and when you share content about beBee on other platforms. They'll tweet your content, share it on LinkedIn, and comment on your buzzes and honey.


Getting Started

Home Icon: Access the home page by clicking on the Home icon. Here you'll find the latest and most active buzzes and honey. Your hives are on the left panel.

Profile Link: To the right of Home, at the top of the page, you'll find the Profile link. On the large right panel, you will customize and view the profile information that will be displayed to other bees. 


You'll also find:

Public Tab (Black)

  • View Blog: Through this very important link, you can quickly access all the honey you have produced. It's on the left panel, right under your name, title, # of followers, and profile URL (It took me a few days to find it.)

Private Tab (Black)
Here you can customize your:
  • Contact Information
  • Personal Data

Buzzing About


Buzzes Tab (Black)
Here you can quickly locate all of the buzzes you have posted and get a snapshot of how many bees have indicated that each buzz is relevant as well as total shares and comments. Click on specific buzzes to reach the comments and see more details. It's a great way to find people to follow.

Hives


Hives Tab (Black)
From the Hives Tab you can quickly locate the hives you have joined and view how many bees belong to it and the total number of buzzes.

Hives Link: From this link at the top of the page, you can open the view that lets you search for hives by keywords and fliter by language. You can also view:

  • All Hives
  • My hives (the hives you have joined)
  • Hives I manage (includes the hives you have started and as well as those you have agreed to help manage)
  • Hives of contacts (this filter is a great way to discover new hives)

In the Hives:

You will see the following on the black navigation bar on the right:
  • Buzzes: Discussions or posts
  • Bees: A list of other bees in the hive
  • Jobs




Bees (Other Members)


Bees Link: Next to hives, the bees link makes it possible for you to search for members by country and language as well as view your contacts including:

  • My followers: Who is following you
  • Following: Who you are following
  • Who has viewed my profile: Helpful for discovering new people to follow


Jobs Link:  Search for jobs here. Jobs can be filtered by country, location, date posted. There is a special filter for executive jobs.


Honey (Blogging @BeBee)


Producer Link: Allows you to see the honey that has been produced.

  • Discover: New Honey
  • Hives: Honey from your hives and other hives
  • Bees: Honey produced by the bees you follow and other bees
  • My profile: All of your honey with those key statistics (e.g. relevant tally, views, # of comments). This is one of the most helpful links.

Once you are all set up, the beBee Guide will show you how to get more power out of beBee through a series of tutorials.

I still haven't figured out the titles, how you become a VIP,  the role of Brand Ambassadors or how to become one but that will come with time. When I figure it out, I will update this honey.
