BlockChain Trends for 2018 & Blockchain Primer: Going Back to the classroom will need APICS Training

APICS

Outstanding article by Juan Imaz at beBee.com! If you have not seen it I suggest you check out the link here that I posted: https://www.bebee.com/producer/@juan-imaz/6-reasons-why-blockchain-will-change-the-world#state=

I have seen many Companies, researchers at Universities, & international governments that are exploring how Block-Chains can continuously work to secure trust, & to eliminate middlemen or 3rd parties. There are Top Leaders in a variety of sectors around the world now seeking to understand how to implement this new technology. I can very easily see how distributed ledgers/blocks of information can help all companies big & small operate more efficiently. This will make the playing field more fair & because of the sharing of this information everyone becomes more efficient. An example is how the field has changed with small operators using the Internet can work out of a small facility to ship orders vs taking down space that is not needed with leases of facilities.

Big losers will be companies that control a high % of a vertical market whether that be High Tech/Telecom, Automotive, Energy, Life Sciences, Retail, Gas & Oil, Industrial Products, Consumer Sector, Aerospace Services, Services including air and sea freight forwarding, customs brokering, rail /road transportation management, companies with a specialist in mail and express services.

Some companies that want to maintain their proprietary information because that is a competitive advantage will be against BlockChain initiatives if it touches confidential core competencies. These companies may use some aspects of BlockChain if it is a commodity type item that they do not worry about sharing info in a category, may be some parts, packing supplies, material handling supplies, industrial products, etc. I have been in conversations with CIO's, Academia & other researchers that want to remain anonymous with fact gathering in this area, pretty exciting stuff here!   Some good examples of companies that may be treading carefully on how they develop & use Block-Chain may be Defense Contractors listed below. Companies that fall into this category are:

  • Lockheed Martin Corporation.
  • The Boeing Company.
  • Raytheon Company.
  • General Dynamics Corporation.
  • Northrop Grumman Corporation.
  • United Technologies Corporation.
  • L-3 Communications.
  • BAE Systems.
Here is a good link for the size & scope of 9 of the largest defense contractors:  #1-lockheed-martin-corporation-1" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">http://www.businessinsider.com/the-top-9-biggest-defense-contractors-in-america-2016-5/#1-lockheed-martin-corporation-1

“For many in the tech industry, ‘blockchain’ and ‘cryptocurrency’ are hot buzzwords, but for photographers who’ve long struggled to assert control over their work and how it’s used, these buzzwords are the keys to solving what felt like an unsolvable problem,” said Kodak CEO Jeff Clarke in a statement. “Kodak has always sought to democratize photography and make licensing fair to artists. These technologies give the photography community an innovative and easy way to do just that.”  The KODAKOne platform and KODAKCoin cryptocurrency were developed for Kodak by WENN Digital. Their ICO has begun on January 31, 2018, and is open to accredited investors from the U.S., U.K., Canada and other select countries. This ICO is issued under SEC guidelines as a security token under Regulation 506 (c) as an exempt offering.

in simple terms Blockchain is like a spreadsheet that everyone can see and update. Walmart has been using to monitor issues on food that was spoiled and can track all the way back to where items were grown, from cradle to grave.
