Savannah Logistics and Technology Corridor

The SLTC Taskforce is an initiative comprised of business, government, education, and community stakeholders committed to the growth development of a corridor that supports logistics and technology innovations and investments. Our mission is to develop guiding principles and policies of the Corridor and to press for their adoption by the Georgia General Assembly in 2019. Recently key leaders have been working as part of this corridor here in Savannah. Savannah Logistics and Technology Corridor

The SLTC Taskforce is an initiative comprised of business, government, education, and community stakeholders committed to the advancement of Georgia and the Savannah area in particular through the development of a technology corridor that supports logistics technology development through innovation and investment. Our mission is to develop guiding principles, policies and to propose positive governmental actions that would benefit the Technology Corridor and to press for their adoption by the Georgia General Assembly in 2019.

A RESOLUTION 

1 Recognizing Augusta as an official Cyber Security and Information Technology Innovation 

2 Corridor and Savannah as an official Logistics Technology Innovation Corridor in Georgia; 

3 and for other purposes. 

4 WHEREAS, Georgia's economy would greatly benefit from further growth in the 

5 information technology arena; and 

6 WHEREAS, it is highly desirable to review current state incentives as well as opportunities 

7 for future incentives for technology growth; and 

8 WHEREAS, it would be beneficial to establish specific information technology corridors in 

9 this state, and such corridors would directly foster the growth of information technology and 

10 innovation through local collaboration among universities, hospitals, and logistics hubs; and 

11 WHEREAS, it would be advantageous for official corridors to be established for the pursuit 

12 of state and federal grants; and 

13 WHEREAS, the Augusta Cyber Security and Information Technology Innovation Corridor 

14 shall encompass the counties of Augusta-Richmond, Burke, Columbia, Lincoln, and 

15 McDuffie; and 

16 WHEREAS, the Savannah Logistics Technology Innovation Corridor shall extend one mile 

17 along each side of Interstate 16 from the Pooler Parkway to Stiles Avenue, and one mile out 

18 along each side of Interstate 95 from the Jimmy DeLoach Parkway to U.S. 17. 

19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF 

20 GEORGIA that the members of this body recognize Augusta as an official Cyber Security 

21 and Information Technology Innovation Corridor and Savannah as an official Logistics 

22 Technology Innovation Corridor in the State of Georgia. 

23 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed 

24 to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the public and the 

25 press.
