Six Delicious Holiday Drinks to Celebrate with this Holiday Season

XK DELICIOUS

Whether you are hosting a holiday party or simply want to embrace the festivities of the season, mixing up a new libation is a great way to celebrate the end of the year and raise a glass to the new year ahead. Warm up with these twists on classic recipes that are sure to add some extra cheer to your next gathering.

Cranberry and Cinnamon Whiskey Sour

Cranberries and cinnamon are classic ingredients used around the holidays. Mix them with whiskey for a simple, yet delicious take on a traditional whiskey sour. Boil cranberries, cinnamon sticks, sugar and water to create a simple syrup. When ready, simple syrup is mixed in with a combination of orange, lemon, and lime juices, and of course, whiskey. Find the recipe here.

Mulled Wine

Cinnamon, cloves, and orange slices form the distinct flavors found in this cozy drink. Combined with honey, brandy, and red wine, this concoction is warmed up on the stove top and will delight the senses of anyone who tries a sip!

Coquito

Coquito is a traditional drink in Puerto Rico, often made around Christmas time. Similar to eggnog, coquito has a few unique ingredients such as cream of coconut, that truly make it stand out when compared to the classic American style of egg nog. White rum, cinnamon, and vanilla combine nicely in this special drink.

Gingerbread Hot Chocolate

If there’s one drink that makes you want to cozy up with a good book during a snowfall, it’s hot cocoa. This made from scratch recipe will taste better than any prepackaged mixes you’ll find, and when combined with a classic holiday flavor like gingerbread: you can’t go wrong.

Peppermint Bark Mimosa

This sweet and festive drink is a show stopper. Champagne is mixed with peppermint schnapps to form the base of the drink. Decorate the rim of the glass with melted chocolate, crushed candy canes and garnish with a candy cane to really get into the holiday spirit!

Hot Toddy

Simple and classic, the core ingredients of honey, lemon juice, and brown liquor make up this beverage which is typically served warm. Drink it as is or use the recipe as a base for the addition of other seasonal ingredients.
