Physical Intelligence - Day 22

Physical Intelligence - Day 22

Day 22 Physical

IntelligenceWhat I had written this time last year could have been written an hour ago and there is absolutely no difference in physical intelligence behaviour change.  The only difference is that I now have a tangible comparison which serves as an evidence point regarding failure to transform in any meaningful way other than meeting the self-set obligation of engaging in physical exercise.

Yesterday the sense of follow through on obligation meant that I had finished in the gym room at 4am and I ended up finally retiring to sleep at the very same time my wife was getting up.  It is good that there is follow through on physical fitness, but so far it has not accompanied physical intelligence, which is what the bronze learning hive features.

It means that I am engaged in "doing" but not actual learning, because the learning here would be transition away from those things that I have highlighted to be consistent and stubborn life choices.  Recognizing this as zero progress in terms of lifestyle change, that is what I focused on finding out today - what others have thought about lifestyle change in the health and wellness area.  This is where I found a video called "21 Days to Change Your Lifestyle Habits".

I am totally new to improv and it is something I saw an improv group do at college, so I have Kauser & Company to thank for introducing me to this. Over the next month we will be trying out improv and learning about it in the Saturday "success masters" program I am incorporating, First I must learn myself how to do this physically through a new improv segment we are planning to include in our weekend offline club meetings and after that, then for sure I will begin to buzz about it and share my own learning here at beBee. Knowing some improv rules is not the same as practicing them - in many ways improvisation can be viewed as a different form of physical intelligence. I look forward to sharing my offline learning in a new buzz later in the summer.

For sure spontaneity is to be in the moment rather than be stuck in a moment. Not everything we do should be spontaneous because I would call that kind of spontaneity "spontaneous combustion". There is a spontaneous space which produces flow during and just as importantly AFTER the spontaneity. If those two states from spontaneous being do not support each other i.e. brings our life to an out-of-flow rather than in-flow state, then we are then being reckless rather than reflective for growth. Channeled in this way, this flow also represents the better angel within us and informs us of our inner fruitful nature. What comes out is a Social X-Ray of what is within. Remarkably I have found that despite this spontaneity it is easier done alone than in a group setting. This is why I have now begun to explore the subject of improvisation. Spontaneous improv is making it up as you go but in a group setting there are rules to improv that create a smarter social improv, these rules were developed by the Second City comedy club and begin with YES AND and they reveal an interesting paradox between rules and improvisation. Where spontaneity becomes a drawback is in planning activities like gym or at least it would be better to schedule such an activity, rather than engage it when one feels like it - which is what I end up doing and invariably becomes the last thing I engage in my day, no matter how long that day is - and that license to extend one's day is what Day 22 revealed both last year and on this particular day and that is a license that is not viable as a long-term physical intelligence.

It actually makes sense for me to sleep late because I don't like wearing a mouth guard, so the poor dear has to put up with my strange version of snoring which was once taped, and it sounds more alien than human. I can sometimes engage on 4 to 5 hours of sleep, and if I have to get up early even 2 to 3 hours can suffice - though of course this is not an advisable course of action. What plays out an ideal scenario in my head rarely comes into being unless there is a short-term challenge, playing dice with one's sleep rhythms is not particular smart but I can see this motivation to be an indulgence. Yesterday my wife worked on Sunday and had to get up at early - and being that is when I finally retired it was nice me saying good night to her as she was saying good morning to me. There is a certain part of our life which is a trivial pursuit and it is clear to me that these pursuits are the enjoyment of a superficial drama. This is the opposite of a disciplined life, which is as much connected to rebellion, than it is to common sense. We do these things because there is a not so-mature rebellion to living a formulaic existence - not because we should, but because we can. That little voice of reason that says not to will eventually say "I told you so" and after half-a-century of existence, that voice is what I would call "learning", and not changing is a common but irrational life choice.

Hi Lisa \ud83d\udc1d GallagherIt all depends on what adjustments I make. When I adjusted to a 4am wake up phase, I was waking up at 3am. Tonight I am sleeping around 3am, it all depends on what I have adjusted to. The reason for the late night's now is heavy duty procrastination coupled with meet the commitment set to go to the gym every day. If there was no gym commitment I would be resting like a lamb now. Thankfully I have finished my college course where with assignments I do the exact same thing, leave it as close to the deadline as possible, and then time the payoff - the payoff being the procrastination. When it comes to work trips I like to sleep earlier and get up fresh in the morning to engage cognitive work, when I used to work with my brother I remember having to share a hotel room for work we did in Fond-du-Lac in Wisconsin. He is a genuine night owl and all I could hear was the incessant sound of his keyboards, that was the last time I shared a hotel room on a business trip with anyone - it drove me mad. The shoe would have been on the other foot had I got my sleep in because then he would have had to deal with my early rising, but it never came to that - so the answer it depends on what I am adjusting to.
