What’s Hot on beBee!
Those that know me by now will know that I like to keep my content varied. Before beBee, I used to write on finance blogs, watch forums, travel blogs, autosports forums, post foodie blogs on Facebook, and boring career stuff on LinkedIn. I had some finance articles picked up by magazines, have been interviewed for the Financial Times, Reuters TV, Asia Risk, Asia Trade, Euromoney. I was a prolific writer, but nobody really knew since my content was dispersed to the four corners of the Internet.
Once in a while I would sneak in a personal interest article onto LinkedIn Pulse to gauge the reaction. Nobody cared to Like or Share or Comment since they did not want to be seen as straying from the “professional” facet that is LinkedIn. My friends and family did not want to see my articles on derivatives on Facebook. My watch buddies had zero interest in anything else.
Then along comes beBee Producer. Finally a one-stop venue for all my articles. An eternal resting place for my legacy musings. Even in Beta, beBee’s publishing platform was simply a joy to use. From day one I knew I’d found a home.
Nearly two months in and I am starting to notice which subjects are the most popular.
Believe it or not, Music tops the list.
My three articles on Music garnered a whopping 19,000 Views and 69 Relevants. This should come as no surprise since almost everyone loves music, but very few would be interested in investment banking. It also helps that music posts are shared into one of beBee’s largest Hives, Musica with close to 600,000 members.
Forever Grateful – Forever Music
Second hottest topic appears to be Autosports although I have just posted one article which racked up 7,000 Views. Certainly I will have more to come in the coming months.

Third hottest topic is Travel, with 8 articles drumming up 14,700 Views.

So there you have it. Two months on beBee Producer with 51 articles producing over 92,000 Views, 940 Relevants, 533 Comments. I cannot thank this community enough for the warm engagement. The clear winners in my repertoire have been Music and Travel, and I suspect for many of you, there is a third subject which I do not cover that is always going to be hot – Social Media.

Thank you Aleta. Yes, I think one of the reasons why engagement levels are high here is that the content on our feeds is always varied. I got totally bored of my LinkedIn feed within 3 months. Looking forward to reading more from you. I love stories told by antique dealers. One of my most precious books, given to me by an antique jewellery dealer, is a book called A Vase for a Flower, Tales of an Antique Dealer.

Thankyou Cory. I do hope that you and others do branch off the beaten path. I am certain this is how we foster meaningful relationships by learning about each others facets beyond our professional lives. I am quite sure that you have an infinite number of experiences to share. When I started reading social media back in October last year, I came across Liz Ryan and she blew me away. After a couple of weeks I got bored and unfollowed her. I don't know how she does it, writing about the same stuff day in, day out. Diversity may well be the new thing in marketing. Doesn't mean we still can't be an authority in our field. Glad you liked the website. I can't quite believe nobody has done it before. Anyway, still early days and hopefully we have first mover advantage.

Excellent Paul Walters, your travel pieces are a joy to read. I expect you have a "Best Exotic Marigold Hotel" waiting to be penned and I will be first on the list to pre-order. On the lifespan, i think that beBee are working on something that will enable great posts to have a longer lifespan. Hopefully a democratic algorithm that selects articles to feature based on engagement.

Dean Owen, and a few others. My uncle used to buy old cars, his Model T was the car I remember the most- he would buy them in their original condition and work on them until they looked brand new again. My stepfather has a 67 Mustang and took 4 years to do a complete overhaul on it, complete with big speakers hidden (can't remember the type of speakers) anyhow, the car looks brand new now and he takes it to car shows. We found an "Ohio" 67 license plate for it on Ebay and my stepfather proudly displays that on the car.

Thank you Lisa Gallagher snd I aagree with you. Mixed planting is known to produce better yields than mono-planting and even by using resources more efficiently. BeBee does that and admirably well. I don't want the false feeling that I am 100% satisfied or even near it.

Too true Gert Scholtz to name but a few who write stuff that has never been written before, new ideas. Too many couch journalists on LinkedIn who consistently repackage wikipedia or other peoples lists. I am so much more enjoying the content on my beBee feed as authors discover they are not shackled to their professional lives. Reminds me, I need to subscribe to many authors now that the newsletter is launched.
