INTRIGUING STARDOM!

Since human civilization started to flourish

Domination by the powerful towards weak became a habit

A continuous process of such trait

Being forced to emulate by many with religious bait

Authority thus became prominent in surface

Their cultural design started to gyrate with grimace

Engulfed many with their reiterating rhyme

Human emotions thus evolved as the only prime!


Emotions sell with highest quotient

Out of emotion, individual started to act as malevolent

Whether in ancient colosseum

Or in modern auditorium

We only express our immense devotion in emotion

Thus we pave the way for emotion to govern us and churn!


Entertainment gradually explored as the most prolific industry

Whether Film, Drama or Sports and Games

It inundate majority with intense turbulence

Making people blind, devoid of reasons

Science took back seat, yet struggle to keep its pristine essence

The tide of opulence eclipsed people in entertainment train

As majority are responsible to generate huge revenue with glee

Alas! Emotional spree alone plays the pivotal role

Human’s destiny thus caught into the vortex of emotion, deviating from their goal!


A scholar in science

Struggles to uphold observation and reason

As the true way for human's decent social design

A true star he is for dedicating himself to serve humanity

But, poverty and drudgery is his closest company

To reach to success and acclaim

He continues his diligence at length

But, an entertainer makes huge wealth and fame and quick rise

In a wink of an eye out of human’s intriguing emotional devise!


Stardom became an inevitable human syndrome

Encapsulate by emotions

We tend to worship human as star at random

Out of our twinkling eye

How can we fathom, how many light years away

From human spectrum

A star has its own realm

Yet our emotion perhaps can alone travel to that speed

To ruin ourselves for our obnoxious greed!

Our vision become blurred

We helplessly surrender to stars dazzling illusion only to mar?

Guided by alone emotion

What an intriguing breed we are to make emotion only champion!

thank you very much Louise Smith for sharing your valuable insight. actually the sea of change we are engulfed with only to renew ourselves with a changed format and thus our life sails on! but factually the waves on top of which few particles dazzle and they beckon the attention of of myriad, not probably able to anticipate how ephemeral their existence are. however, i am privileged and honored for your support and appreciation.

I would interested in hearing your thoughts on the big 5 archetypes and how they apply in this context. My question has always been why would one archetype see another as better or worse? Media seems to spotlight folks that represent a archetypal paradigm. It also has the ability to shame the rest. Interesting thoughts.

Hi Debasish Majumder this topic really resonates with me So many people think their life is a Reality TV show with themself as the number 1 star. So many people are so sensitive & perceive criticism is the mildest suggestions. So stunt their own growth. There is no balance as you stated between people who shoot to stardom through promotion by popular media & people who work hard with responsibility in their "ordinary" jobs with little or no appreciation. To the point where they are called "boring" or " pedantic" or "losers" so their self worth is undermined When in fact their tenacity is for the common good & they are the fabric of functioning society. Something ironical is that stars are not all fixed in the universe their energy wanes, they fall & are known as shooting stars I like this "INTRIGUING STARDOM!" the most of your poems to date. I love the picture too Thank you

The antidote to idolizing stars is to look at your self yesterday and today and improve on that tomorrow. Our idol that strive to be should always be what we find in the mirror, not what others have set standards. Great poem. Looking at yesterday what is one thing you can do to improve you today? In 5 years you wont recognize the person you have become.

I don't know when you started writing this buzz dear Debasish Majumder. However; because of my buzz of today on The The Hope Losers this line drew my attention: A true star he is for dedicating himself to serve humanity This is a thoughtful line. I was reading about the Nigerian player Ahmed Mousa who starred by scoring two magnificent goals in the Nigerian previous match. He was a star on the field. But also he was a star before traveling to Russia having helped many poor people and paying the debts of forty prisoners who failed to pay their loans and released them. A star isn't only a star ion the field, but off the field as well.
