AS I RECOLLECT - by Devesh Bhatt

I desire what I do not have,

And the awareness for what I possess.

For now, objects are alive to me,

But the living, may appear lifeless.


As if the livings exhaust their life,

To give life and then transform,

Things that they persist to create,

And things, they desire for long.


These things end up no different,

From people in fleeting thoughts,

And maybe conveyed to others,

As memorable consorts,


So I have known many people,

Through ink, paint, noise and rocks,

And the virtual who come alive,

With any machine which talks.


While we progress with our creations,

And many things come alive.

I must remember my knowing,

Of the natural, it helps me survive.


For the trees, wind soil and water,

I thank nature, as I recollect.

And with science as a tool of creation,

This life must have my respect.
