Jesus said:

But go ye and learn what [that] meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice:

for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Matthew 9:13 [1898 Young’s Literal translation]

Everything that follows in these handbooks must be considered in the light of the above scripture, and it would do well to remember that Christians also commit sin.

Having experienced mercy it will be our joy to do the spiritual sacrifices detailed in the handbooks.

"But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin."

1 John 1:7

The trespass offering is a compulsory offering and this sacrifice is obligatory.

The New Testament equivalent is the acceptance of sanctification by believers.

In Leviticus 5, 6:1 - 7, 7:1 -10, we find the trespass/guilt offering in which blood and flesh atone for the trespass. We will look at these scriptures further on in this handbook.

*In the BIBLE STUDY MEETING - all the brethren study together before God.

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and correctly handles the word of truth.

2 Timothy 2:15. [New International Version]

All scripture is God - breathed and useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

2 Timothy 3:16, 17. [New International Version]

We need to remember that the Holy Spirit is our Teacher to bring us to full knowledge of God and so we look at a set of scriptures to enable and describe that: -

"I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counsellor to be with you for ever - the Spirit of truth.

But the Counsellor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things, and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

John 14:16, 26. [New International Version]
