"Make a table of acacia wood--two cubits long, a cubit wide and a cubit and a half high. Overlay it with pure gold and make a moulding around it. Also make around it a rim a handbreadth wide and put a gold moulding on the rim. Make four gold rings for the table and fasten them to the four corners, where the four legs are. The rings are to be close to the rim to hold the poles used in carrying the table. Make the poles of acacia wood, overlay them with gold and carry the table with them. And make its plates and dishes of pure gold, as well its pitchers and bowls for the pouring out of offerings. Put the bread of the Presence on this table to be before me at all times.

Exodus 25:23-30.

Symbolism as follows: -

* Table = place of fellowship, feast, communion, Nourishment, food.

* acacia wood = incorruptible flesh, non-decaying wood, humanity of Christ, Root out of dry ground, Stem of Jesse.

* two = witness, testimony, agreement.

* gold = Divine nature, glory, faith of the saints.

* four = earth, world - 4 corners, 4 winds, 4 seasons.

* Bread of the Presence = staff of life in Presence, crushing, kneading.

* pitchers = rounded.

* bowls = sacrificial, cleanse, to be free, empty, clear, pure, innocent, acquit, blameless, guiltless.

* spoons = to bow down, to tread as in prayer.

The Shewbread consisting of twelve cakes/loaves = divine government, 12 apostles, administration. Each was made from 2×1/10 deals of fine flour. Two stacks; six in each.

fine flour = the material (money, time, service, etc.)

This all speaks of the bread of life in Matthew. You can't worship unless you are fed; and the soul is satisfied.

The bread is covered with frankincense, which has a beautiful smell & bitter taste; indicating that because of the Word comes persecution. God will rest upon you because of persecution.

If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of Glory & of God rests on you.

1 Peter 4:14

The Table of Shewbread is an experience of the revelation of the Word - doctrine, communion and fellowship.

The meal offering is voluntary, and the New Testament equivalent is the giving of our possessions.

The component of fine flour as the material represents the way in which we give; our money, our time, our service, etc.

The additives of: -

*** Oil - represents the Anointing; to be led by the Spirit.

"Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful."

Colossians 3:15.

"Be careful not to do `your acts of righteousness' before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.

So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honoured by men. I tell you the truth; they have received their reward in full. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."

Matthew 6:1-4.

*** Frankincense - always check by prayer before giving.

*** Salt - giving must be done in love.

"If I all I possess to the poor and surrender my body the flames, but do not have love, I gain nothing."

1 Corinthians 13:3.

There are different levels of giving: -

Raw flour

Unleavened cakes

Roasted grain

which speaks of different levels of effort and preparation, as well as differences in wealth.

We are to give in the following ways: -

"The King will reply, `I tell you the truth, whatever you did for the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me."

Matthew 25:40.

".......; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously;..."

Romans 12:8.

".......They are a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God. And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus."

Philippians 4:18, 19.

Giving while linking us into the Body of Christ, serves as an ongoing practice in the goal of becoming a living sacrifice.

There are also forbidden additives: -

# Leaven - representing sin & hypocrisy.

"Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift."

Matthew 5:23, 24.

# Honey - representing in this case bribery,

"A wicked man accepts a bribe in secret to pervert the course of justice."

Proverbs 17:23.

it also can mean controlling, for glory,

"It is not good to eat too much honey, nor is it honourable to seek one's own honour."

Proverbs 25:27.

* The Prayer meeting is under the care of the prophetic anointing. The function there is to train and equip the saints; and also keep the saints focused on the symbolic Table of Shewbread in the Holy Place.

"and do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased."

Hebrews 13:16
