THE LOCAL CHURCH - HIS BODY MANIFEST [3.]
Meetings are to be conducted in way that will be conducive to the flow of the Holy Spirit’s manifestation in any particular meeting, and thus it is recommended that the following guidelines become part of that meeting.
WELCOME TO MEETINGS OF THIS LOCAL PORTION OF
THE CHURCH AT...............
THE FOLLOWING SCRIPTURES ARE THE GUIDELINES FOR MEETINGS, AND MUST BE ADHERED TO STRICTLY.
Blessed are they whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the Lord.
Blessed are they who keep his statutes and seek him with all their heart.
They do nothing wrong; they walk in his ways.
You have laid down precepts that are to be fully obeyed.
Oh, that my ways were steadfast in obeying your decrees!
Then I would not be put to shame when I consider all your commands.
I will praise you with an upright heart as I learn your righteous laws.
I will obey your decrees; do not utterly forsake me.
Psalm 119:1 - 8.
Starting a quarrel is like breaching a dam; so drop the matter before a dispute breaks out.
It is a man's honour to avoid strife, but every fool is quick to quarrel.
Proverbs 17:14, 20:3.
Keep reminding them of these things. Warn them before God against quarreling about words, it is of no value, and only ruins those who listen.
2 Timothy 2:14.
But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels about the law, because they are unprofitable and useless. Warn a divisive person once, and then warn him a second time. After that have nothing to do with him. You may be sure that such a man is warped and sinful; he is self-condemned.
"Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift at the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift."
Matthew 5:23, 24.
"If your brother sins against you, go and show him his fault, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over. But if he will not listen, take one or two others along, so that `every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.' If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, treat him as you would a pagan or a tax collector.
I tell you the truth, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there I am with them."
Matthew 18:15 - 19.
We also need to look at the following thought: -
THERE IS ONLY ONE PURPOSE
TO AND FOR THE CHURCH MEETINGS
THROUGH JESUS CHRIST

The incredible beauty of the Lord’s Prayer is highlighted in the study below.
THE LORD'S PRAYER
[Matthew 6:9 - 13]
The Lord's Prayer contains everything that is in Leviticus chapter 1 through 5, which explains the power in this prayer in terms of impacting people’s lives.
"Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name", ~ encompasses the old testament/covenant peace offering, [Leviticus 3] and in the New Testament covenant is the `sacrifice of praise - the fruit of lips that confess His name.'
Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, ~ encompasses the old testament/covenant burnt offering, [Leviticus 1], and in the New Testament covenant is to `offer your bodies as a living sacrifice.'
Give us today our daily bread, ~ encompasses the old testament/covenant grain/meal offering, [Leviticus 2], and in the new testament/covenant is to `do good and share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased'.
Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors, ~ encompass the old testament/covenant trespass offering, [Leviticus 5], and in the new testament/covenant are to `have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son purifies us from all sin.'
[1 John 1:7].
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one, ~ encompasses the old testament/covenant sin offering, [Leviticus 4], and in the new testament/covenant is to have `the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God.'
IN THE FOLLOWING CHURCH MEETINGS WE WILL SEE HOW OUR LIVES CAN BECOME A LIVING LORD'S PRAYER.
Church meetings/cell group meetings; are ideally held in the family atmosphere of a private home, but can be held with any size gathering, that has been subdivided into groups of not more than 12 people- because beyond this figure people cannot maintain the intimate unity that grows in a local church.
whole subject of cell groups has been thoroughly covered by
ministries such as Touch Ministries, and Cell Group International;
and much wonderful material is available from them.
The `only' difference is that the Church meetings as discussed in this Book have a five-fold emphasis, and incorporate in their structure the `types' and `shadows' from The Tabernacle in the Old Testament.
Below are 3 scriptures, which show gatherings of His people meeting in homes. These indicate that the Lord wants to be with us in our homes
Greetings, too, to the Church that meets at their house. Greetings to my dear Epaenetus, who was the earliest convert to Christ in the province of Asia
Christian greetings to the brethren at Laodicea, especially to Nymphas, and to the
that meets at their house.
…and to our sister Apphia and our comrade Archippus--as well as to the Church in your
[1912 Weymouth translation]
“.... [But] let everything be constructive and edifying and for the good of all.
1 Corinthians 14:26.
Now if you obey Me fully and keep My covenant, then out of all nations you will be My treasured possession. Although the whole earth is Mine, you will be for Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.
...and with Your blood you purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation. You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth.
The new covenant reads as follows: -
"This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time, declares the Lord. I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people."
The Church meetings/cell groups are designed by God to write these laws on our hearts and minds, through practicing the appropriate Old Testament sacrifices in their New Testament context [see Lord's Prayer previously in this Book]
The detail of the sacrifices will be dealt with on another ocassion, by way of perspective. It is sufficient at this stage to let the Holy Spirit do the Father's Will.
`As you come to him, the Living Stone - rejected by men but chosen by God and precious to him - you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
1 Peter 2:4, 9.
...and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father - to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen.
Moses said to Aaron, "Come to the altar and sacrifice your sin offering and your burnt offering and make atonement for yourself and the people; and make atonement for them, as the Lord has commanded."
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old is gone, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us - we implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
2 Corinthians 5:17 -21.
The notes that follow on the church meetings serve as basic training mechanism for daily Christian life; and all the minimum requirements for an effective Christian walk.
It is recommended that before each meeting the format be read by the leader of that meeting, with the idea of guiding the meeting to achieve the objective of that meeting; not as a ritual but rather on the basis of the idea of a "rainbow around the throne".
Also it would good for the leader of the meeting to study as many versions of the Bible as possible, with regard to the scriptures that have been quoted.
Above all, the meetings should be conducted in the Presence of the Holy Spirit, under the headship of Jesus, to accomplish the Will of the Father.
Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.
For people landing on the page for the first time, please go to the first posting, and proceed from there, as all the postings are sequential in nature.
