7 Things You Need To Walk Away With After the Quarantine

7 Things You Need To Walk Away With After the Quarantine

ecd6e66a.png

Someday soon, you’ll be out of your quarantine.

If you do not have these 7 things after your quarantine is over, then it was not a “lack of time”, but a lack of discipline on your part.

One: More Knowledge

There are tons of online books, online courses, podcasts, blog posts, and videos which allows you to access a massive amount of knowledge on thousands of topics.

With your extra “free time”, you should be walking out of your quarantine with more knowledge.

Two: New Skills

While you’re gaining more knowledge, you should be putting this know-how into practice. With practice, one gains new skills.

Example: You watch dozens of hours on how to build a website. As you are learning how to build a website, you begin practicing building actual websites. This, then, gives you a new, marketable skill.

With your extra “free time”, you should be walking out of your quarantine with new skills.

Three: A Side Hustle

With more knowledge and skills gained, you must find, create, or expand upon a side hustle.

You truly need multiple sources of revenue to ensure your financial security. You need to build up a reserve fund, just in case something like this happens again. You need to bolster your personal economy, not just that of your employer’s.

With your extra “free time”, you should be walking out of your quarantine with a new or expanded side hustle.

Four: Power Connections, Larger Network

With so many people at home, checking their social media platforms in record numbers, you have a massive opportunity to connect with more people. Specifically, powerful people that will now want to take advantage of your expanded knowledge, new skills, as well as be potential customers of your new side hustle.

Your net worth is determined by the size and quality of your network. Build your network and it will build your net worth.

With your extra “free time”, you should be walking out of your quarantine with powerful connections and a larger network.

Five: Better Health

Watching more Netflix is not your personal path out of this global disaster. We already know that people with unhealthy conditions are more likely to be vulnerable to viruses.

You need to exercise more and eat healthier. It’s time to build up your strength and your immunity. Unhealthy people move and think slow. Healthy people tend to move and think faster.

With your extra “free time”, you should be walking out of your quarantine with better health.

Six: A Greater Willingness to Help Others

Many people will be in enduring pain as a result of this virus. Not just physically, but emotionally and financially. The repercussions will last years, maybe decades.

In your own way, you need to ask yourself how you will help others even more. Being a comforting shoulder to cry on, or help your community as a volunteer, it all matters now.

The world is not going to heal if we continue to remain socially distanced.

With your extra “free time”, you should be walking out of your quarantine with this question answered, “How am I going to help the world heal?”

Seven: A Heightened Sense of Urgency

If the events of the last few weeks did not rattle you into a new sense of urgency, then there is nothing I can write that will change that.

“We are now faced with the fact that tomorrow is today. We are confronted with the fierce urgency of now. In this unfolding conundrum of life and history, there is such a thing as being too late. This is no time for apathy or complacency. This is a time for vigorous and positive action.” ― Martin Luther King Jr.

With your extra “free time”, I hope and pray that you will be walking out of your quarantine with a new sense of urgency.
