Publicity is the deliberate attempt to manage the public’s perception of a subject or brand. From a marketing perspective, publicity is but just one vital component within a broader marketing strategy.

Publicity refers to press coverage – TV, radio, print, online – and it’s the publicist’s role to secure media placement. Publicity is more narrative, focusing on telling a newsworthy story.
