I’ve had permission to fly over it when I was piloting commercial airline flights to Jamaica, but I learned quickly that permission is not a guarantee. On those days, when we were allowed the overflight of Cuba, we’d see the shoreline creep under our wings and inform the passengers that today was a good day.
