Top 4 Anticipated Movies of 2017
While 2017 is already underway, and we’ve already seen some tremendous movies with Logan and Get Out, there is still plenty of room for more movie magic. And so far, 2017 is on track to be one stellar year for cinema. So in the spirit of all things film, I figured I would compile a list of 4 movies scheduled for release this year that I’m excited for.
Here are my top 4 anticipated movies of 2017, in no particular order.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has become a staple of popular culture and cinema. And since its conception in 2008 with the box office hit Iron Man,Marvel and Disney have been pumping out hits like Hershey’s does chocolate. And while the classic comic book character Spider-Man has had his fair share of box office success with Sam Raimi’s beloved Spider-Man film franchise—although the third entry wasn’t received well by critics, it was still a commercial success—Sony’s reboot of the wall crawler’s adventures with The Amazing Spider-Man 1 and 2 was not exactly met with praise.
When rumors began to swirl in late 2014 regarding the possibility of Sony and MCU teaming up to make a movie based on Spider-Man and include him in the MCU, fans were ecstatic. And now, we are only four months away from seeing Marvel’s first full-length take on their most popular character—the MCU version of Spider-Man has already been featured in Captain America: Civil War, but only for a few moments. Tom Holland, the English actor proved himself in Civil War as the wise-cracking, yet tough, web head that fans have been dreaming of since Raimi’s Spider-Man 2. And considering that even with his previous three standalone films performing poorly with critics, Spider-Man is still the most bankable comic book hero. Toss in a cameo from Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark and Michael Keaton as the villain the Vulture, andSpider-Man: Homecoming is sure to please fans and casual moviegoers alike.
Christopher Nolan has become one of the most revered directors of the last 20 years. Nolan rose to fame with his box office and critical hit Memento in which a man with amnesia attempts to find his wife’s murderer. The film was lauded for its unique, non-linear storytelling technique. Nolan then cemented himself in cinema history with his incredible ability to tell deep, thought-provoking stories through big-budget blockbuster films with The Dark Knight Trilogy,Inception and
