Be rooted & be grounded in LOVE

“For this reason, I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being,  so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. Be connected to your roots.
As a tree is part of the forest, we are part of a family. 

All of humanity is the family of man. 

We are the “offspring of God.” Acts 17 

To honor your roots .. brings blessing

In the forest & in LIFE the root determines the fruit. 

Jesus said: "Make a tree good and its fruit will be good. or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad .. for a tree will be recognized by its fruit." Matthew 12:33

As a woman of faith, I am grounded on this Rock:

In my faith journey this is where I have found my true identity & purpose:

Be planted

Trees grow where they are planted. In like, we must “GROW” where we are planted. Determine to “BLOSSOM” wherever you are. Even when conditions may not optimal for growth remember this principle: Start where you are with what you have. In due time the season of GROWTH arrives.

Be a refuge

Create loving nests in your branches. May those nests be filled with singing birds. May songs of gratitude overflow into a well-spring. As trees provide shade in nature for flowers & forest creatures, may your tree be a welcoming & safe refuge for family & friends.

Trees grow toward the light.

Growth is impossible without light. 

Spiritual growth is impossible without God’s Light.

Spiritual growth is a CATALYST to personal growth.

“For with you is the fountain of life; in Your light we see light.” Psalm 36

 

Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the LIGHT of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

“I have come into the world as LIGHT, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness.” John 12

Be in His Light & light will be in you.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the LIGHT of all mankind.” John 1

There are two ways to journey through life.

One is with God. 

The other is without God.

With God means your heart is toward Him

Without God means your heart is turned away from Him

If you grow with your heart toward God, your spiritual & personal growth can be directed by His Spirt ... as you cooperate.

I share this truth: God can only do for you what you allow Him to do in you.

Human growth is very much like a tree. You cannot see it grow day by day .. for growth takes time. Year by year. It is a process that requires Light, patience, nurture .. desire and cooperation.

Your reward is to become this kind of tree:

“They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.” Isaiah 61

“The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life” Proverbs 11

When Victor Hugo had walked more than eighty years upon this earth .. he expressed his faith in these sublime sentences: "Within my soul I feel the evidence of my future life. I am like a forest which has been cut down more than once, yet the new growth has more life than ever. I am always rising toward the sky .. with the sun shining down on my head. The earth provides abundant sap for me, but Heaven lights my way to worlds unknown.”


Be a good tree

This is the life of a tree. “Being still .. knowing God.”

May the seeds that fall from your tree be good seeds that grow into good trees.
 

The personal, professional, spiritual growth of a human being can be likened to the “circle-of-life” of the “tree-of-life”

.. for with each year that you live .. each lap around that circle, you earn another ring
.. you take a lap .. you go around the circle .. you learn & grow & apply lessons .. another ring is added
.. and so it goes until you run out of laps ;~)


At the end you have become like a beautiful, mature and strong tree
You cross over into your destiny .. if you believe, into eternity

There are rings on trees that mark annual growth

Affirming strength from nature, an unspoken oath

“The Tree of Life”

It stands out that “The Tree of Life” is revealed in Genesis & is miraculous provision in Revelation.

Genesis 2:8-9

The Lord God planted a garden toward the east, in Eden; and there He placed the man whom He had formed. Out of the ground the Lord God caused to grow every tree that is pleasing to the sight and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

Revelation 2:7

He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will grant to eat of the tree of life which is in the Paradise of God.’

Revelation 22:1-2

Then he showed me a river of the water of life, clear as crystal, coming from the throne of God and of the Lamb, in the middle of its street. Be willing to “turn over a new leaf” 

There are seasons in life. 

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens” Ecclesiastes 3

Just as the leaves on trees fall in their appointed season, we must recognize the things that we need to shed. To make way for new growth.

We will live more abundantly if we are willing to let the old go so that the new can come.

God has gifted human beings’ free will. We choose our path which often includes detours & dead ends. But here is “Good News: at any time, we can “turn over a new leaf” 

Decide to go a different way. 

Become a different person.

You say: "Is it supernatural against natural, or better should be the supernatural WITH the natural?" I agree .. the supernatural can't occur without the natural cooperating (my sprit WITH the Holy Spirit) Also sadly true what you say about "human relationships .. marriage is (or should be) the strongest one" if one is "too concerned about God issues, put in second place his/her life partner. Then the couple got broken" Jesus warned about division in families that would result from if one-some follow Him & others not (Luke 12) Loving God 1st is the greatest commandment If that is not a shared love - it can be the cause of division (even divorce) 2) I made many comments at Frankenstein Faith ;~)

Your words "when weighing the supernatural against the natural" got me thinking too. Is it supernatural against natural, or better should be the supernatural WITH the natural? Then it came to my mind Ecclesiastes 4:12 "Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken." On which the two cords are husband and wife, and the third, God. From all the human relationships, marriage is (or should be) the strongest one, which together with God is indestructible. There is where perfect balance can be found. I have too often seen couples which, due to one of them was too concerned about God issues, put in second place his/her life partner. Then the couple got broken. Again, is balance what matters. Look forward to seeing your comments into Frankenstein faith post. All the best for this new year

I looked up https://www.bucklershard.co.uk/attractions/maritime-museum/ This note on Nelson's Navy: Forty acres of 100-year-old trees were needed to build a 64-gun ship such as the Agamemnon. (Nelson's favorite) That's around 2000 trees in total !! (for 1 ship) How long does it take to grow a 100 year old tree? 100 years - this makes such trees a treasure indeed I did look up the New Forest in Hampshire .. it looks very beautiful on the sites I viewed .. makes me want to visit '~) You make a deep point: "The question could be does the area called the New Forest, commemorate the winning of the naval wars or remembrance of the mighty oaks that died to make the victory possible. We are not always aware of the true price paid that we may remain safe. I was thinking more in the spiritual realm when talking about being in the Light -and "growing with our heart toward God" This produces optimal growth - spiritually speaking From my way of seeing: All living things grow better in light (except perhaps mushrooms) "In His Light .. we have light" Your words: made me read several times "People who ONLY care about God can be very resisting but are not very useful when you look for shelter. People who take care ONLY in human values can give a nice shelter, but it is not long-lasting. Brought to mind an expression: "don't be so heavenly minded that you're no earthly good" BALANCE is hard to find in many things. Especially when weighing the supernatural against the natural. Wishing God's rich Peace, Wisdom & blessing in 2021 Be well with all your being. (your recent post "Frankenstein Faith" got me thinking & writing a response-will comment there)

Instead of gravestones and marble statues, you can grow a living memory to your loved ones when they pass on" I appreciate your science background .. perhaps that influences what you say: "My inner sceptic wonders whether trees are created "for our provision & well-being." Namely, trees have been in existence for roughly 400 million years, and humans (Homo sapiens) entered the scene about 300,000 years ago. There are many things I am SKEPTICAL about .. but not creation. I believe that the universe was formed at God's command. Believe, by faith, that God created what we see .. from what was invisible Belief .. produces faith FAITH has hope .. confidence in what is unseen .. and often faith seems beyond human understanding (in the physical or scientific realm) Supernatural Vs natural - often requires a leap of faith Pascal Derrien is right we are "guests" sojourners on earth .. We are also charged with stewardship (whether we accept that as being from God or men) Without question .. nature is a wonderful teacher. Hearts of oak are our ships. So goes the chorus of the stirring Royal Marines regimental march. While the words mark the feats of the British Navy, it also marks the fate of the oak tree. Many wonder why the New Forest in Hampshire is almost devoid of trees. This because the oak trees were cut down and used to build naval battle ships at Bucklers Hard. Nowadays saplings would be planted when areas lose their trees. The question could be does the area called the New Forest, commemorate the winning of the naval wars or remembrance of the mighty oaks that died to make the victory possible. Bee like a tree... Although trees need light to grow, they might survive with a little light, but do not survive without any water. A tree with light and scarce of water use to grow yellow, dry, rocky trunk, with huge roots and uses not to be very tall. Its fruits use to be tiny but highly concentrated. In the end, a very resisting tree, but without a lot of shadows. On the contrary, a tree with scarce of light and a lot of water uses to be tall, small roots, soft trunk, and green. Its fruit use to be fleshy, but not very tasty. A lot of shadow and fruits, but fragile when bad weather comes. Going along with your wonderful buzz, I would say that if Light from God is needed by a tree to grow, the water of high human values is highly needed too. People who ONLY care about God can be very resisting but are not very useful when you look for shelter. People who take care ONLY in human values can give a nice shelter, but it is not long-lasting. The balance between both is what I try to be. “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself. Matthew 22:37-40

Dear Fay, first, let me thank you for these wishes from your heart. I also wish you and your loved ones a healthy and happy New Year. There is no doubt that a special bond between trees and humans has always existed. Your words "Be planted" reminded me of something I've read recently. There's a patented process that turns human cremated remains into growth material for trees. Instead of gravestones and marble statues, you can grow a living memory to your loved ones when they pass on. Sounds like something out of this world, but it gives a different meaning to your words "we must grow where we are planted." My inner sceptic wonders whether trees are created "for our provision & well-being." Namely, trees have been in existence for roughly 400 million years, and humans (Homo sapiens) entered the scene about 300,000 years ago. 😊 As Pascal said, we are mere guests on this planet. There's so much to learn from nature, trees in particular. After all, nature is the best teacher. :)
