"Lines of Life"

“The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;

Surely I have a delightful inheritance.” ~ Psalm 16:6

"Lines of Life”

Truly lines shape everything … and LINES are everywhere

You can’t escape them. Look around. They’re bold & true & fair

The unchanging lines of latitude & longitude

Hold their positions with unchanging attitude

Life’s changing lines are best held with gratitude

There are lines of symmetry that mathematicians love

The human heart has such a line … gifted from above

Oceans & seas have GLORIOUS shore lines

“This far & no further” … the Great Design

Water meets rock in a SONG ... with fractal fury art is formed & ever changes

SCULPTING lines that are born jutting … erupting and breaking

When we are gone ... these lines remain & NATURE rearranges

65941544.png

Sunrises & sunsets … flare dazzling, crimson rhymes

With brilliant LINES to read for a moment before they quickly fade

Making way for the moon & stars … more shapes that God has made

“The wind gives the rain, then builds us a rainbow” ~ Windsong

Brushed lines of soft colors … we see from below

There are lines of descent … in each family tree

A lineage of goodness & greatness … we all hope to see

Parents draw LOVING lines to shape & to guide

From loving protection … it is foolish to hide

Clothes have lines … to solar dry … no longer deemed worthwhile

Designers have distinctive lines … they hope fill every isle

Comedians have some funny lines meant to make us SMILE ;~)

Politicians have DUPLICITOUS lines … their motives often vile

It used to be such rogues were hanged but that is out of style ;~)

Lawyers have convincing & litigious lines … to sway a jury trial

Lovers have ROMANTIC lines … that will a heart beguile ;~)

6fb20fc8.png

Some lines were created merely for FUN

For GAMES very often played in the sun

In GOLF there are swing planes & angles that determine your “line of flight”

In tennis if your ball hits the service line or baseline … then its “good … alright”

In baseball: foul, field & baselines define

In football: there are white lines & sidelines … yard lines & end lines

… offensive & defensive lines rush yard lines … aim at end lines

to get the ball cross the goal line in the right time ;~)

In hockey there are red lines & blue lines & goal lines called “crease”

Ongoing line changes … switching out players on the fly … never cease

All sports have stacked lines of bleachers … for FANS

And sometimes these folks get a bit out of hand ;~)

Lines forming letters … shape words on every page

Lines of communication … filled with wisdom are “sage”

If you’re a poet … some lines will rhyme like climb & prime

If you’re a writer … creative lines are not bound by time

You may have to “bleed” out the lines but that’s not a crime

Schedules & projects are established using lines

But some lines in time … are not ours to Design

The hands of a clock are like moving lines

If human hands move them … it does not change the time

There are lines filled with mystery … the TRUTH not always clear

And so we “read between the lines” … and search & reach & dare

Lines that are crossroads … should be carefully placed

And ever so thoughtfully … not crossed in haste

Lines on our face … we might like to erase ;~)

But laugh lines and love lines are beauty to trace

0c3f0a61.png

Lines on our hands might reveal what’s ahead

Lines in our minds sometimes fill us with dread

The brave of heart can be found on the front-lines

Facing the enemy head on … their courage shines

Lines formed in battles … How foolish is WAR

Cease all the fighting … and WAR is no more

“Who wishes to fight must first count the cost” ~ Sun Tzu, Art of War

For once you’re at war … all “gain” comes with loss

Some men put their life on the line … for others to be FREE

Their sacrifice merits HONOR … more than a line in history

In life, some lines are CROOKED … making it difficult to see

Following too many tangents … could make you confused or weary

There are lines drawn on roads … to help us go STRAIGHT

There are lines drawn in LIFE ... that cause us to WAIT

Fences & WALLS are lines to keep something out … or hold something in

Walls can be lines in our heart or our head … we erect them WITHIN

Now if you’re an architect … please tell us how INVISIBLE lines begin

Will the lines of your life be the lines of your TEXTS?

CROSSES are lines … life intersects death … what’s next?

Plumb lines are straight … they help us create

Right lines or wrong lines may determine your fate

In matters of Truth … we should “hold the line”

In matters of justice … right lines are defined

God’s lines are “PLUMB-lines” … His foundations sure & true

If you follow His PRECEPTS … your life will be too

In LIFE there’s a line toward Light & belief. This path is filled with hope

But there’s also a line toward dark unbelief. This path is a slippery slope

A dash is just a tiny line … but it’s like our life upon the earth

How we choose to fill that *“dash”* ... determines our life’s worth

February 26th 2020 this poem blossomed from “draft”

I write: “In His Light”~ Fay Vietmeier

If my words make you think … Great ;~)

As “iron-sharpens-iron” … I enjoy bantering with other BEES … your feedback is as “honey”

A glimpse of the “Bee” called “me” ;~)

My caring nature makes me an advocate. My curious nature makes me a “queen of questions” … but gifted with the ability to listen ;~) I am a woman of deep faith, a blessed mother, a voracious reader, a blossoming writer, a grateful person, and a lover of beauty … I treasure family, true friendships and my loyal clients ... enjoy traveling, learning, good movies, good wine and golf. I’m a “heart-to-heart” communicator.

Franci🐝Eugenia Hoffman, beBee Brand Ambassador Coming from an accomplished poet, your reading followed with words of praise “superbly written” is tucked away in my heart ... very meaningful and a great encouragement to the bee called “me” ... Those lines were added toward the end ... (I questioned adding the lines on sports for I am not much of a sports fan these days ... my focus is elsewhere but I know many people love sports ;~) any thought? I am going to submit to Spillwords (I did submit “Blueberry Banter ~ Blueberry Blues” but did not hear back)

#43 Preston 🐝 Vander Ven Preston ~ how beautiful is God's Word ... rich with wisdom to guide us in our life To help us know when we cross a line we should not or come to an important crossroad ... and would be well advised to seek High Counsel before proceeding "Blessed" are you and "blessed" is your family that your heart is after God ;~) and you hang out with "Wisdom" Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding, for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold. She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her. Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor. Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her; those who hold her fast will be blessed. ~Proverbs 3

A great piece so many lines. My favourites are one liners. Here are three that go together. 1998 Don't get in a car with a stranger. 2008 Don't meet people from the Internet. 2019 UBER. Order yourself a stranger from the Internet to get into a car with alone.

Harvey Lloyd I always appreciate your wisdom Harvey ... and your reading my "lines" Insightful: Lines are amazing when we look at what they mark and unlock when we cross them. Your line brought to mind this book: Not a Daycare ~ The Devastating Consequences of Abandoning Truth And The trice admonishment in Romans 1 "given over" ... I always think that's a place I'd rather not visit ;~)

Yes, thank you for asking Fay Vietmeier;-) It seemed to float on by without much notice at the time...Perhaps we can resurrect some interest in the 'possibilities' generated by the transference and transformation of quantum energy dynamics. Kevin has brilliantly laid out some practical steps for anyone with an interest in learning the practice of energy healing. It's a two-part post with a lot to digest, but I think it will 'strike a chord' with those of us wanting to develop a better understanding of how working in concert with nature energetically feeds our 'life force'. https://www.bebee.com/producer/@cyndi-wilkins/creating-cadence-in-communication

Cyndi wilkins Thanks for the poetic response Cyndi I loved your add of LINES from Sun Tzu When my son was in grade school I bought a beautifully illustrated copy of The Art of War for him...hoping his young mind would appreciate the wisdom ... I read it as well but many years have passed ;~) Your comment prompted me to pull it from a shelf ... and look through for I although I've read it I did not remember what you shared ... it is under "Energy" (7-8-9) Prefaced by # 6 “Indirect tactics, efficiently applied, are inexhaustible as Heaven & Earth, unending as the flow of rivers and streams; like the sun and moon, they end to begin anew; like the four seasons they pass away to return once more.” ~Sun Tzu Many applications for this wisdom in LIFE ;~) (Now that it’s off the shelf it’s on a pile of books by my bed to read/reread ;~) Thanks you ;~) "Every song we sing is a transference of energy to the world around us. Our lives, therefore, are an original work of art. full of amazing ideas to convey and arrange as we choose." ~Cyndi From which post was this? It is lovely ... I have read some of your posts but I don't remember this ... want to read (or read again) & comment

There are lines filled with mystery … the TRUTH not always clear And so we “read between the lines” … and search & reach & dare Lines that are crossroads … should be carefully placed And ever so thoughtfully … not crossed in haste Lines on our face … we might like to erase ;~) But laugh lines and love lines are beauty to trace Lovely piece Fay Vietmeier...I always loved to venture outside the lines;-) Drove my parents crazy! “There are not more than five musical notes, yet the combinations of these five give rise to more melodies than can ever be heard. There are not more than five primary colours, yet in combination they produce more hues than can ever been seen. There are not more than five cardinal tastes, yet combinations of them yield more flavours than can ever be tasted.” ― Sun Tzu, The Art of War All voices combined creating the greatest of symphonies...An excerpt from one of my recent pieces..."Every song we sing is a transference of energy to the world around us. Our lives, therefore, are an original work of art. full of amazing ideas to convey and arrange as we choose." I so love the poem by Linda Ellis...I read it at my dad's funeral A dash is a just a tiny line … but it’s like our life upon the earth How we choose to fill that *“dash”* ... determines our life’s worth...

Ali 🐝 Anani, Brand Ambassador @beBee Oh my dearest Professor ... you are one step ahead and many lines ahead ;~) I was reviewing some other work and was coming here to notify my favorite bees of this post ... I hope you know you top that list ;~) But you beat me here ;~) I love what you pointed out about the shorelines ... and considered adding more lines about them I actually cut some lines in this poem (almost did not add the lines about sports) ... but these lines are important to many people (and I realize I did not mention soccer) In your honor I will come up with a special line about shorelines and add a line for you ;~) I have another writing on fractals in my "bee famous drafts" it's been there for many months ... I have a list of around 10 which I'd like to focus on ... the poems just seem to flow out in between In reading I get so many IDEAS it hard for this bee to keep all the lines in the right order & priority I'm heading to your post on "Intangibles" and will be meeting you there

Dear spiritual poet Fay Vietmeier First- I want to highlight the name of our friend Joel Anderson to alert him to your beautiful dedication. As I was reading your lovely poem ideas about lines started to jump up in my mind. Not a single one that I thought of wan't mentioned in your poem from. short lines (dashes) to imaginary lines to military lines to sports lines. I love the beauty by which you described lines and your mind is much as alert as your heart is. Even the thought of poetry lines you covered spectacularly well: "If you’re a poet … some lines will rhyme like climb & prime If you’re a writer … creative lines are not bound by time" This is the best to describe your poem my friend. You climbed mountain peaks with your flowing lines and you created waves of emotions and joy for the readers. One little idea and just to play the role of the devil is your poetry line "Oceans & seas have clearly defined shore lines" You know coasts lines are rugged and they are fractal as the more we zoom in the more we see and explore. Your poem is fractal too. The more we zoom, the more we shall discover the beauty underneath.
