"The Covering"

                                                   "The Covering"

“The Covering”

Lord please help me to rest … to sleep

Too many thoughts for my mind to keep

Its dark outside but I see snow falling

Huge … soft ... quiet … beautiful flakes

Falling like manna from heaven

A feast for my eyes

... If time would freeze …

I would paint forever pictures

Then frame them on the walls of my mind

Of all the people I love

Those who touched my heart … with their heart

Some for a lifetime and some for a day

Are kept my heart … and always will stay

Memories are like trees … growing outward & upward

Some branches dipped in white forgiveness … bowing down

A grace covering … a soft white blanket

Laid quietly upon the earth

… Snow hugging the trees …

Feels like God hugging me

~ by Fay Vietmeier ~

I have a Friend who walks with me

... but He’s a Spirit you can’t see ...

You think He is far … but He’s ever so near

Consider His Presence. Be blessed thru the year

Falling ever so gentle … His grace is like snow

If you open your heart … this too you will know

Our days and our times are held in His Hands

His Grace is extended to all in the Lands

If my words make you think … Great ;~)

As “iron-sharpens-iron” … I enjoy bantering with other BEES … your feedback is as “honey”

A glimpse of the “Bee” called “me” ;~)

My caring nature makes me an advocate. My curious nature makes me a “queen of questions” … but gifted with the ability to listen ;~) I am a woman of deep faith, a blessed mother, a voracious reader, a blossoming writer, a grateful person, and a lover of beauty … I treasure family, true friendships and my loyal clients ... enjoy traveling, learning, good movies, good wine and golf. I’m a “heart-to-heart” communicator.

@Randall Burns
Thanks for reading & sharing your honest comment ;~) Aletheia
I am reading your post recommended by @Lisa Vanderburg
… is SO RICH in THOUGHT that I am going to respond with a post dedicated to you. From the little I’ve gleaned in reading … Truly you are a “deep well” … You say: you are a “Believer” but not in what most other people believe (which does make you stand out from the crowd ;~) and “have no issues with anyone being a "Believer", regardless with what it is”

;~) Some people “believe” in ferries, chocolate … sports, drugs … “smart phones” … “higher education that is supposed to produce “smart” people … place reliance on corrupt governments lead by self-serving politicians … you fill in your own ;~)

The question is always where our beliefs lead us and what fruit our “beliefs” bear ;~)

I’m a “Believer” too: in The One true God … who in LOVE & fulfillment of His Word: sent His One & Only Son, Jesus Christ to redeem & restore mankind
I am a woman of faith ... gifted with curiosity. I seek Truth, knowledge & understanding which bears wisdom & discernment. I desire to live FULLY this earthly life (in the physical & in the spiritual)
In my belief: personal & spiritual growth is a process ... a journey of faith that hinges on belief in & whole-hearted cooperation with a God & Holy Spirit that is unseen.
I have become a woman of faith not overnight but over decades.

Be well my bee friend ;~)

Another great poem @Fay Vietmeier I can really relate to the imagery of the snow being here in Northern Alberta. Always some interesting philosophical/perceptual discussions in the comments and while I'm always hesitant in partaking I can honestly say that I'm a "Believer", just not in what most other people believe. but that's OK; makes for excellent dialogue and I do learn every day. I have no issues with anyone being a "Believer", regardless with what it is.

@Steve Howard#35I appreciate your reading and response ... also for sharing that you are not a believer
I have not always been a believer ... "God does not have grandchildren" ;~) No one is born a believer (although believers can be "born again") ... in a moment "belief" can come ... then a faith journey begins and is walked out ;~)

In Pits, Prisons & Palaces I give a glimpse of how - it happened for me
"Be blessed"... I hope it's "OK" to wish you well in that way ;~) Fay

I like your descriptive style very much. Though I'm an atheist myself, I enjoyed your poems very much.

Thank you Joel for the rich quote by Mandela
A piercing question: Are you settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living?
Worthy of a post ;~)

There is no passion to be found playing small - in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living.
