Food to Reactivate your Pineal Gland: Nutrition for the Mind's Eye

The mind's eye, scientifically known as the pineal gland, is considered the gateway to the higher levels of consciousness, in case you were not aware of the pineal gland is an endocrine gland in the form of a small pine cone in the brain that produces and secretes the hormone melatonin, it is also believed that the pineal gland is responsible for the release of tryptamine Dimethyl (DMT), the pineal gland is the "principle of the seat of the soul," according to Descartes, as you can see this gland has many functions both physically and metaphysically, and keep it running at its full potential should be a priority of all who seek a healthy mind.

As we age the pineal gland starts to calcify and become slow, this rate varies considerably per person and lifestyle, but the consumption of excessive amounts of fluoride is considered a risk factor, this is partly because the fluoride accumulates in extremely high amounts in the pineal gland causing their calcification faster, fluoride can also reduce the production of melatonin, two things that certainly do not want to happen, research has shown that calcification of the pineal gland has a strong correlation in the development of Alzheimer's disease (Mercola 2011), a diet loaded with preservatives, white sugar, soft drinks, GMO, chemicals and pesticides is a major risk factor for calcification and its premature aging as well.

What can we do to combat the aging process and calcification of the pineal gland?

We eat a preservative / chemical-free diet, which is rich in healthy fats, should be a no-brainer (pun intended), but what else can we do?

Cut the use of fluoride

While you do not cut them completely you can dramatically reduce levels consuming to do this should filter properly to tap water before drinking since many communities have water supply that is added fluoride to achieve this you need to use a filter that removes fluoride (careful with the filter reverse osmosis it also removes all minerals from water "killing it"), or buying bottled water indicates no addition of springs water fluoride, you can also switch to a toothpaste without fluoride, many types of natural dental pulp can help prevent tooth decay, and does not intoxicate him with fluoride.

Take apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is rich in malic acid making it a great tonic to detoxify the whole body including the pineal gland, apple cider vinegar has a long list of benefits and can help make the body more alkaline (this is a very good thing ), try taking a tablespoon 3 times a day or try adding lemon juice with honey, sit, enjoy and reap the benefits.

Eat foods rich in iodine

Eat foods rich in iodine as seaweed, other foods like cranberry, green beans, cabbage, broccoli, dark leafy greens, bananas, shrimp and lobster are also rich in iodine, this is a very short, incomplete list, you can adjust it to meet your needs and lifestyle, not only iodine support function to the thyroid, but it is also important to the pineal gland, iodine helps remove fluoride from the body as discussed above is very toxic, iodine It can be harmful in high super levels so if you choose to use in supplement form consider using a water-soluble form as Iosol to avoid the risk of excess to consume it.

Eat raw cocoa

Cocoa organic raw is rich in antioxidants that fight free radicals and keep our brain healthy, it can also help stimulate the mind's eye (pineal) helping to detoxify it also who does not like chocolate?

Coma coconut oil

Coconut oil (extra virgin cold pressed) nourishes the entire body even skin and hair, but their biggest advantage is that it nourishes the brain and detoxifies the pineal gland, coconut oil is rich in chain triglycerides average which are converted into ketones in the liver, it was proven that ketones restore neurons and nerve function in the brain (Mercola 2013), this is great news to reverse the brain damage and can even provide a breakthrough in research Alzheimer's disease.

Try these herbs

Gotu Kola nourishes the whole brain and the pineal gland, alfalfa sprouts and parsley help to energize the pineal gland, all these herbs (and many others) help to stimulate and detoxify the pineal gland, try adding the bud parsley and alfalfa generously when cooking for an extra boost brain!

Stop using sunglasses

Does that caught your attention? Well let me explain, the light reflected from the retina stimulates the pineal gland, our eyes need to be exposed to indirect sunlight daily (to any of photosensitive ganglion cell) if you are wearing sunglasses sure to strip them by least for a short period of time every day, it also provides the vitamin D is very important for health and balances the brain helping to combat depression.

Of course there are several other wonderful ways to promote the health of the mind's eye, as said, this is by no means a complete list, it is always good to check with a herbalist doctor, especially if you have any health problems if taken supplements, now go ahead nourish your mind's eye!

#5 If you feel a head ache coming on or pain in your forehead whilst meditating it could be to do with the fact that you are trying too hard. The trick with meditating is to just be. Some days are a lot easier than others.
