A Brief History of Global Warming (From Bloomberg), New Edition.



Global warming turns 125 ... sort of. Next year will be the 125th anniversary of the first time we figured out that human activity could be causing climate change. Since then, the science has gotten firmer and the politics have gotten murkier, but the outlook for the future remains uncertain. This is the history of manmade global warming in three minutes. All started with Svante Arrhenius, a Swedish scientist, who established the relationship between CO2 and atmospheric temperature. At the time, nature was still at equilibrium and nobody paid attention. Svante August Arrhenius was a Nobel-Prize winning Swedish scientist, originally a physicist, but often referred to as a chemist, and one of the founders of the science of physical chemistry.

As happened with other issues where special interests saw a threat to their activities, a denial and doubt producing industry emerged, like with DDT, the Environment, Tobacco, Flame Retardants, Non-Recreational Drugs, Clean Air, Automobile Safety and now with Climate Change. The same shills, who work on many issues, creating false science and doubt.  As a result, the issue, from a scientific matter, became heavily politized and in the dirtiest and unethical way.

I have seen people suddenly negate Global warming with persistent counter arguments but none could deny the destruction of water bodies due to manmade causes. Water allows the planet to heal itself and reduces all pollution causing triggers that escalate in a viscious cycle of human greed. Perhaps, we ought to define ecosystems around the world across every inch of the planet and implement economically progressive ideas. I have a few of them.
