The Road Chronicles...

The Road Chronicles...

The series title emerged organically in 2016 from the recesses of my psyche, I think upon reflection, in deference to Jack Kerouac's seminal work "On the Road".

My early reading of Kerouac's novel first drew me into a period of narrowly focused introspection, then summarily cast me out into the world — where I have since sought to connect with people, ideas and things across a much broader field of engagement. My writing and engagement on social media has been an extension of that period of awakening.

And this series expresses some of my own observations, hard-won during the journey from then to now. You will find all the installments at:

1. "Social Media Is a Highway, Not a Destination"

2. "Cynicism Can Be the Final Refuge of Idealism"

3. "Reaching Beyond Me"

4. "Do Not Mistake What Is For What Should Be"

5. "The Syndrome of the Long Goodby"

6. "Finding Your Way Past Self-Reflection to Action"

7. "Living in Third Person"

8. "Finding the Route Around Self-Pity"

9. Finding Your Way Back to Intelligence

10. Chasing the Trend: When Did We Give Up On Individualism?

Phil, as I commented on LI, I 'm looking forward to the next instalment of this series (although you said the X-th is your last one). Maybe you can write a new sequel. By the way, there's been a very interesting thread on your last instalment on LI that made me think about writing a post on some thoughts said in comments.

Thank you, @Debesh Choudhury, for reading and for the kind words. I tried hard to keep these practical and real. And I am gratified that some such as yourself see them that way. Cheers!

#3 Please do. It's a stew I bet you'll appreciate and understand. Not because it's profound, but because I've tried to keep it real. Thanks for reading and taking the time to comment. Cheers!
