True?

True?

Each of us is, to some extent or other, a reflection of the experiences of our lives. However, whether and how we succeed is determined at least in part by how we cope with those experiences and what we learn from them.

Which experiences have shaped your life and why?

Thank you Preston \ud83d\udc1d Vander Ven for your kindness and importantly your words of truth, I have always felt that once you understand your capabilities and limitations such as a turning point, you can effect change and build towards a better future, we always have circumstances that we cannot control, life would be quite boring without challenges and bumps in the road :-) but having gratitude and being calm through your attitude is so important in life, to yourself and to others. Have a wonderful week and thank you for your transparency and for sharing! :-)

Really great to hear your story Louise Smith I was sorry to hear about the loss of your Father. I can completely resonate with your story, I had a very unfortunate childhood too, with the grace of God, my Grandmother and Grandfather stepped in to take charge of my well being. These life skills even at an early stage in a persons life shape the person you are and importantly who you are going to be. Research use to say that your brain was developed as early as early teens, however, maturity of the brain is stated at 25, I am confident you have heard the saying, 'you held an old head on young shoulders'. With the responsibility you held at a very young age you will possess confidence, tenacity, determination and drive, these are skills in life that cannot be learned in an MBA text book and most people if they admit it or not have a true story to share of challenges that were or were not overcome in their life. Amazing that you are inspired to pass your knowledge to your clients, I decided to write my first book Freedom after the Sharks, this was a true story of my life and events that took place. Thank you for leaving your comment, really good to hear from you!

My Father passed away suddenly when I was 6yo. As the oldest of 4 children, I had to step up and help my Mother. There was no fuss. I just got on with it. I don't often consider reasons why not to, I have a go. I am confident that I can deal with any issues as they arise along the way. That's how I got through 3 degrees and 3 jobs with large leadership components. Now I am a psychologist. It's the first job I chose to do rather than taking whatever came my way. My previous life experiences definitely help me to do the best for my clients every day.
