About Time

7e2cfdd2.jpg

Time goes fast, time goes slow.

There are times when we stop to think about time itself. How we see it, how we experience it, how it passes. How the past weaves into the now, and how the present shapes our anticipation of things to come.

How does our perception of time shape our thoughts and actions? Do we look forward to the future without wanting to escape the past? Are we so much in the immediacy of the moment that past and future do not matter?

However we perceive time around us, ourselves in time, and the flow of life, it’s good to stop awhile and think about it. Wonder about it. Appreciate it.

Lightly, intensely or in melody.

Time is the most valuable thing a man can spend. – Theophrastus

Everyone reaches the future at the rate of sixty minutes an hour - C.S. Lewis

Time is what keeps everything from happening at once. - Ray Cummings

The Longest Time - Billy Joel

We all have our time machines.

Some take us back, they're called memories.

Some take us forward, they're called dreams.  - Jeremy Irons

Time After Time - Cyndi Lauper

Time is the conveyor belt in which all things come to you whether you want them or not.

Time is the foundation that chaos lies upon and we choose. - Harvey Lloyd

Remember also that each man lives only the present moment.

The rest of time is either spent and gone, or is quite unknown – Marcus Aurelius

Time is the coin of your life.

It is the only coin you have, and only you can determine how it will be spent.

Be careful lest you let other people spend it for you. - Carl Sandburg

Time In A Bottle - Jim Groce

It is not that we have so little time but that we lose so much. ...

The life we receive is not short but we make it so;

we are not ill provided but use what we have wastefully. - Seneca

All This Time - Sting

Time is a brisk wind, for each hour it brings something new...

but who can understand and measure its sharp breath,

its mystery, and its design? - Paracelsus

Only Time Will Tell - Asia

May your time be good.

Wherever you be now.

Only Time - Enya

lovely buzz Gert Scholtz! for us as human being time is considered as fourth dimension, but for other creatures in nature it is just a moment. however, enjoyed read and shared. thank you for the buzz.

Yes, the head of a taller person ages faster if compared to the head of a shorter one. :-) Also, those who live at high altitude are ageing faster than those who live at sea level. Luckily, we talk about nanoseconds. Great to see you continue to practice Croatian. :-) Baie Dankie, Gert.

The thinking is fascinating, as far as artificial gravity goes what I am reading that the ideas in this space are very much experimental and work-in-progress. https://www.forbes.com/sites/startswithabang/2017/10/19/why-dont-we-have-artificial-gravity-in-space/#7ea2e4ef4488

CityVP \ud83d\udc1d Manjit An interesting question Manjit. I would think that animals do have some sense of time, and the perception of it at least, is not only human. Whether time exists outside of the awareness of living creatures - that is a good question!

Harvey Lloyd You keep coming up with such apt lines to this and other posts. Here is one that's to be remembered: "Time is a value we can commit to each other within the human race or we can withhold." Many thanks Harvey.

Theoretical physics tells us to forget everything we think we know about time and how we see it in daily life. For example, our head is older than our feet due to the fact that clocks tick slower when they're nearer to Earth's gravitational field. :-) Regardless of our limited understanding of time, it’s good to stop a while and think about it, and appreciate it. Thanks for reminding us, Gert.

Gert Scholtz I'll try to avoid the "time' cliches in this comment. As always your varied and insightful musings are a delight to read on my Saturday morning when seeking wisdom on beBEE. Thank you as always

Birth gives life to time, death destroys time. If were not able to conceive time as a species, does it actually exist?

Gert, intriguing buzz. I never know which facet of your wonderful character I'll find when I see your name and a title!

Harvey Lloyd

Time is the ultimate equalizer. It is consistent, constant and makes your decisions even if you choose not to. Time is what moves us from control to influence within adulthood. Up to adulthood control is merely an illusion. Time is a value we can commit to each other within the human race or we can withhold. Discernment or judgement guides us, but in the end our time will be seen as wasted or perfected. You get buried with your Money, and BY your friends and family. Time is valuable and is a gift that grows others, use it wisely. Thanks for the mention and the quote Gert Scholtz

Probably the only universal commodity we all share and that none of us will ever own, we are all living on borrowed time its up to us to make the best of it because the mighty clock is ticking no matter what and it has been relentless like that since the most ancient...times :-)

Tantalising take on time, Gert, but ..... -------------------------------------------------------- There's just no time like the present, 'Cause tomorrow, for sure, never comes, So let's all ensure life is pleasant, By removing our thumbs from our bums. --------------------------------------------------------- See this old buzz, mate, for my timely wake-up call on this subject: https://www.bebee.com/producer/@ken-boddie/your-wake-up-call-sir
Time goes fast when you're having fun. Time goes slow when depressed. Time goes slow when you miss somebody. Time goes slow when bored... Time goes fast when you enjoy enjoying your life / your job.
