Canada

Out of interest and curiosity today

I looked up Bees in Canada far away

Was I astounded to find and see

A nation so active here on BeBee

To all Canucks, please take my post

As a thanks and to you a toast!

Jim Murray  is a doyen of blogging on beBee

The best counsel on writing you will ever see

In rancorous rant he is fond to vent

On ways and people, gone around the bend

Paul "Pablo" Croubalian is the master of Twitter

His unique Tweetpack is always aglitter

With BeBee posts from me and from you

And that’s not all, he’s a cook top notch too

Paul "Pablo" Croubalian is king of story prelude

Giving his teaching wide amplitude

A photographer, singer, and guitar he plays

A raging introvert, of himself he says.

Canada

CityVP 🐝 Manjit  is a thinker and commentator of note

His encyclopedic knowledge always gets my vote

Enriching other's posts with insight and glee

He is a brand in himself, it is clear to see :)

Kevin Pashuk  is with us Riding Shotgun

A super man and most mindful one

He tells us all, honest and straight

How gently he cared for his wife Kate

Renée 🐝 Cormier and CityVP 🐝 Manjit

Together they write on business now

A series of questions on what, when and how

Each combine their own unique strengths

Graham philosophical, Renee practical sense

Robert Cormack brings golden writing keys

His posts all written with apparent ease

He says himself he takes hours of time

To compose his work so concisely sublime

Y

Don 🐝 Kerr

Gives us My BeBee TV

With visual delights for all to see

Royce Shook in his sage and quiet way

Always has something of value to say

Renée 🐝 Cormier can surf, swim and cook

With the most fun ever, in my book

Anne 🐝 Thornley-Brown, MBA offers solid advice

On teamwork and groups, always precise

Graham🐝 Edwards  bring songs of yonder and old

In melodious blogs of music stars well told

Nicole Chardenet treats with irreverence and wit

Her short posts are gems that perfectly fit

Robert Cormack is straight, accurate and true

With experienced insight ever so shrewd

To these and all other Canuck Bees I wish to say

From South Africa, eight thousand miles away

A big cheers to you all!

And have a nice day.

Nothing to do with Introversion Don \ud83d\udc1d Kerr... It actually came from the days of when we were under strict instructions "NOT TO TOUCH THE CHRISTMAS BAKING!!!" Being kids, we would sneak a treat from the stash, leaving my mother with an empty container when the guests arrived. I always blamed my sister, and she blamed me. Regardless of the ethics of it all, we have both developed a preference for the frozen (chewy rather than ice-like) indulgence.

Kevin Pashuk Are you freakin' nuts? Out of the freezer? None of the sticky goo runs down your hand and forearms. That's just plain nuts. Must be a raging introvert thing.

Only in Canada would you hear a raging debate on National Public Radio (CBC) about the outrage of putting raisins in butter tarts. As for me, I can go either way, but have found that a butter tart is best enjoyed straight out of the freezer. http://www.cbc.ca/player/play/964886083822

Forgive the 95 Canuck Rugby Team, they were still playing with Ice Hockey rules in their heads - i.e. what would life be if you were not missing all your front teeth - for only an Ice Hockey player wears that smile with a badge of honour :-)
I hate butter tarts....there is only so many things an upbringning can accomplish?

Thanks for the shoutout Gert Scholtz... remember Canada is the land of "butter tarts". The only thing that truly counts. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Butter_tart

When I was 4 years old in London, the Canadian Flag was introduced and at the same time Ontario chose to adopt a similiar pre-1965 flag, complete with a Union Jack and for added measure the cross of St.George. Though Pierre Trudeau signed the Constitution Act of 1982 that moved the constitution from Britain (where I born) to Canada (where I emigrated), what it did not do was remove the head of state (The Queen). Canada remains a monarchy. There is a group in Canada called the Citizens for a Canadian Republic. Herb Dhaliwal - a former Minister and MP who served in Jean Chretien's government is my cousin and he also supports the ending of Canada's constitutional link to the monarchy. Herb is listed as a supporter of the Republic here http://www.canadian-republic.ca/republic_supporters.html Of the people mentioned in this poem there are probably monarchists who are proud of their connection to Queen Elizabeth as the unelected Head of State represented in Canada by the Governor General. The day Canada is a republic is the day I know I am Canadian. Why should I pretend to be fully something that a nation has not fully endorsed. If the people of Quebec say they want to be Quebecois, that is the will of that province since I don't blame them if they don't identify with the monarchy. I believe a Canadian republic can bring unity between English speaking, French speaking and the Indigenous. I don't see the monarchy here ending in my own lifetime.

Thank you for this post that shows the depth of the writing Canadian Bees. Canada has always been a country that has embraced the idea of keeping in touch. We can claim that Alexander Graham Bell the inventor of the telephone lived in Canada--although the telephone was invented in the USA. I think I read at one time that Canadians had more phones per capita than any other country in the world--this was before the Internet, but I believe Canada is one of the most wired countries in the world today. I look forward to checking out my fellow Canadian Bees and their Buzzes

Thanks Sara for spreading the word. Apparently if I win, I get a trip to the far northern regions of this great country. Canada has a lot to offer, and you are all welcome to visit. Call ahead, and we'll tell you how many layers of flannel you will need to wear to stay warm. (Kidding... it's over 30 deg C here right now, but that will change in 90 days.)

Gert Scholtz. Kevin has entered a photo contest to win a grand Canadian adventure. Please check out this page and vote for his shot of the BC Interior Mountains at Sunrise. Verse so friendly and cheerful There really is no reason to be fearful Thanks for the sentiment You've made quite a statement I'm sure that all of us here From Moose Jaw to Red Deer (and everywhere else) Reciprocate your gesture Even the Court Jester We all do pray That you have a great day EH!

Oh Canada! Great buzz Gert Scholtz. As a proud dual citizenship holder, Canadian and Israeli, who lived and traveled through Canada over a period of 47 years(!), I am thrilled to see the spotlight shine on these Canucks! Well done!
Awwww! Gert Scholtz that is a good Thursday. Motivation for "Here it is Canada!". Shelter of all the oppressed and defenseless, where everyone stands a chance to prosper and leave in peace. Home of countless efforts and innovations to save the planet from the greediest interests wherever they stand on the planet.

What a great poem, eh? Gert? I'll have to pick up a two-four and some poutine and read it again by the lights of the Aurora Borealis. My better half and I land in your part of the world at the end of September. We are doing the photo safari tour (Kruger), then a week in Cape Town. Our time in Johannesburg is unfortunately short.
