Three African Bees Meet
Three African Bees sat around a table talking today.
One is a brain surgeon, one a novelist, and one a banker. Three diverse people yet there we were, having a great conversation thanks to one unifying interest: beBee.
Some time ago Ian Weinberg, Paul Walters and I had arranged to get together while Paul is visiting South Africa. We met at a place called Mojo’s, a large eatery centered in Zoo Lake park in Johannesburg.
Our conversation ranged from travel, work and family, writing, a bit of politics (ok, a lot of politics), rugby (of course), neuroscience to our enjoyable experience on beBee.
Paul resides in beautiful Bali. Oh, and he did mention his home has space for many visitors…He is as humorous in person as he is in writing and imitates accents perfectly. He regaled us on how he had his first book published, a colorful story which I hope he will share someday. He is on a trip through some of the travel spots in Africa, from which more vintage Walters travel articles will surely flow.
Ian is thoughtful and observant as is his online persona. He told us about a few unanswered questions of neuroscience, some of which he has written about in articles, some which remain a complete mystery to science. Also about his travels, to Australia where his daughter now lives, and to the weird and wonderful places where he sometimes consults. More stories for another day.
I find it unique how people connect through beBee over huge distances and how it often leads to meetings in person.
Today three African Bees enjoyed each other's company, thanks to the global village that is beBee.
Until we get together again!

A neurosurgeon, an author and a banker walked into a pub .... this is no joke! Wrong on the bill, Ken Boddie The banker and the author looked at me helplessly and I responded, "Don't worry chaps, I'll take care of everything!"

I think that's pretty close to Denver Colorado's elevation (minus the mountains of course). I always have to drink more water than usual when we travel there. We are at 1210 ft above sea level in Warren, Pa

It won't BEE too long Pamela 🐝 Williams and we will be able to tell stories. I think between the two of us and our creative minds along with humor, we might be able to pull off a fun live buzz together too! ;-)

A meetup in Georgia I’m game for it. I don't need a visa to come there, tickets are a cakewalk, I have my bees there and yes the headquarters in savannah. Wow sounds like a plan 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗❤

Gert you are right to describe your meeting as fractal. I am a believer in the power of self-organization and emergence. Paul Walters happened to be in South Africa, and Ian and yourself are mighty bees and so a meeting emerged. Today work is a silo of different professional associations - in a fractal view of work, there can be a networked experience called beBee and it can become the glue that is a connector (and maybe even a liberator) of a hive of professional networks. Not a silo of different professional associations but a dynamic hexagon for evolution of work. That vision cannot be in my head, that kind of vision has to emerge in others like Javier 🐝 beBee https://www.bebee.com/producer/@savvy-raj/simplicity-paradox about "Thinking is the gift - Things are merely gifts". The alternative is TRANSACTIONAL POWER - such as "Personal Branding", which is a linear transactional network . This is a waggle dance difference between being beBee and being brand.
